Why not. I'm a bit rusty in regards to .hack// but the aesthetics are there and Haseo actually has win conditions (huzzah). I think.

Regardless, let's take a look and see if we can't get a fair match.

Haseo (Pre-Skeith) vs Wolf (End-Game Key), speed equalized, fight takes place in the first town area of .hack//infection.

Who wins and why?

Haseo:

Alright, I'll start with explaining a couple of things then.

Basically, most of Haseo's hax in this key works via him hitting his opponent with his weapon or via using an item (he needs to raise his hand to do this).

His Power Null is fairly useful here, as the way Seal and Banish works is if you get nulled, you can't use any abilities aside from basic attacks, Beast Awakening prevents them from attacking at all and Rengeki paralyses them during the attack, it doesn't seem however, that this will bypass his Immortality.

His Curse Manip works by continuously draining the energy of the opponent (It doesn't give it to Haseo, just gets rid of it).

His Mind manip is either making the opponent fight on his side (Charm) or start to randomly attack anything in sight (Confusion), Sleep is self explanatory.

Life Manip just heals him while harming the opponent and Dura Negation takes a certain chunk of the opponent's life away (50% in most cases).

Yeah I went to sleep. Basically once he dies he just stands back up. The only drawback to his immortality is that others around him get afflicted with a disease called dragonrot if he does it too much- enemies and allies alike. The disease is lethal.

Power Null would be good if Wolf had abilities. Most of his stuff comes from items. You may as well power null a gun.

So stamina drain, basically.

How many people has his mind manip worked on? How long does it last?

The last bit allows him to stay alive longer, true. But killing Wolf with that isn't probable. How does Haseo's paralysis work? And sleep manip? I assume it's like normal RPG statuses where you use an ability/spell and they are affected with that for awhile.

Mind Manip doesn't really have a shown limit, but in the actual game it can work on as many enemies as you can fight at once, so like 5 or 6 people.

Paralysis does exactly what you'd think it would do, you hit them and they can't move for a while. Rengeki and Beast Awakening are a bit different, they just hold the opponent in place while you're attacking them. Beast Awakening is also a temporary roughly 2x amp to Haseo's everything.

Sleep is a bit interesting because it lasts until someone hits the enemy again, so that could be used as incap in theory.

Something to note is this key of Haseo is very aggressive, he'd likely go for the kill first and only try to incap once he sees Wolf come back.

He also has a lot of stat amping and reduction things, both for speed and raw power, through either items, spells or weapon and armor properties.

Something I forgot to mention about the Dura Negation, his strongest version of it takes away 90% of the opponent's life.

He also has armor properties that automatically inflict a certain status ailment when hit, this includes even the Mind and Sleep hax.

Mind Manip isn't unreasonable to resist since he was capable to not be put into a trance by Butterfly who had relatively low-tier mind altering effects.

Noted. Keep in mind that Wolf isn't going to die- Type 4 prevents that, and he regularly is shown to be able to use Deathblow on much stronger enemies to garrote them.

Sleep would be good if he in-character uses that or might think of it.

Noted.

Noted again.

Does he have said strongest version in this key, out of curiosity?

Also noted.

He should possess that version in this key, as this key is from before he got deleveled. In regards to incap, he'd probably try fighting normally at first, but once he sees that doesn't work, he'd probably start using incap methods.

Wolf doesn't have Mind Manip resistance on his page, that should probably be added if he has it.
