Final Fantasy Dissidia Keys.

This may not be worth a highlight. If not, I'll remove it.

So I was talking with others on Discord about Final Fantasy Dissidia and the fact that is is confusing to me as to why we cannot add Dissidia keys to those who appear there.

Thing is from my understanding, Dissidia is indeed canon to Final Fantasy and is in fact the entire basis for the plot of the first Final Fantasy. As such, it seems to fall within a case of acceptable crossover scaling. And only characters who appear in Dissidia would get this key. From my understanding as well, Dissidia has its own feats the cast scale to. As such, there would really be no need for Cross Scaling.

What do you all think?
 
I don't think that this needs a highlight myself.

As for the actual question, I have no idea. Don't know shit about the verse.
 
Neutral on the separate keys, but wasn't Dissidia's canon going to be the primary reason for the original FF cast among other characters tiers? IIRC, Chaos has a legit Low 2-C feat to scale from that would scale to the protagonists of the original FF, and said characters fought a character with Immeasurable speed. And the first one isn't the only one that would be effected; there's also the FFV cast who fought Omega and Shinryu, who are Chaos' level.

I know Everlasting and Reppuzan had plans for other things like that.
 
Neutral, but every char. that also appeared in Opera Omnia would get it which is most of the cast.
 
I brought this up before but was told they shouldn't scale due to it being a crossover, even though it's a canonical one. But I personally agree.
 
Legit Final Fantasy I people should scale from Dissidia since Dissidia at this point IS the Final Fantasy I Canon.

The characters from other games don't scale or literally everyone becomes Low 2-C

Well, I made it so only those from Dissidia would scale and would get a specific Dissidia Key.
 
Well, obviously not everyone is Low 2-C, but Dissidia is also part of other FF games lore such as FFV for instance. Like Omega and Shinryu; I honestly think Low 2-C for base Exdeath makes more sense than 5-A to 3-C but maybe that's just me.
 
I've been trying to get this done for years. Obviously i'm in support. I don't see the problem with separate keys for a canon, in-universe crossover.


Also I think they'd be 2-A via scaling off of Neo Exdeath, but yknow.
 
What do you think about two keys Matthew and Dark649?

1) Non canon to most of them (everyone except WoL, Garland and dissidia originals).

2) Powers and abilities are absolutely messed up (cloud can use Fire/a/ga just because?)

3) we dont give non canon keys to canon profiles as a standard (i.e Manga Goku isnt a key of anime dbs goku), if anything, they could have their own profile (which seems fine imo). Like... Cloud KH, or Sephiroth Kingdom Hearts.

4) Heck, we could give them a WoFF key too now that we are at it and make everyone super high 2-B.

No, no, no. That is not what I am going for. I made that abundantly clear. Not every character in Final Fantasy appears in Dissidia. Only those in the game would get them. This would have literally no affect on their main series keys.
 
Except it wouldn't be all Final Fantasy characters, only the ones that are actually in Dissidia. For example

Locke and Celes would get a Dissidia key, but Gau and Gogo would not(if they had profiles) since they never appeared in Dissidia. If they weren't in Dissidia, they don't scale.

2) Cloud can learn Fira and Firaga in his own game. Fire and Fire2.

2) Cloud needs materia to use abilities. He doesnr just randomly fire spells.

3) If its canon to every game, I need a lot of explanations abour the continuity.

FF I: canon

FF II: impossible, Hell Emperor and base Emperor are two different entities. Base emperor cant transform.

FF III: Onion Knight met CoD at the very end and killed her moments later, when did dissidia happen?

I can go on. But I gtg.

What's hard to understand about it...? Shinryu yanks the characters from their own realities and once Chaos is killed they all go home.

Either way, Ever said to wait a bit longer.

You talking about the mechanic? Why would we need said mechanic to say that Cloud can have a Fire Materia?
