Cole stood back as his army of Conduits did battle against the Avengers. The were impressive, but he was The Beast. He could wipe them out by raising his hand. The had powers but they weren't Conduits. It made sense, they had powers through other means. They were powered by technology and magic, Conduits were genetic. That means that the Ray Sphere Blast would undoubtedly kill them. It was unfortunate, Cole would have liked to have someone like Thor on his team, but it hardly mattered now. It had to be done if the plague was to be stopped. Just as he prepared to raise his fist and end this, someone shouted his name. "MacGrath!" Stephen yelled as he stepped through a portal. "I've come to bargain." Cole cocked his head. "With what? Some nice herbal tea? I'm here to stop the plague and the only way that happens is through me." Strange summoned a shield. "My offer is this. Leave or battle against the master of the mystic arts." Cole laughed and drew his amp. "Get that mystic bullshit outta here, I've already fought vampires. I think I can handle wizards."

What can strange do about an opening RSB?

Hypothetically, he could bargain. That meaning, rewinding time to before it happened. Think of it like Fridk's save and load, setting a point that you can come back to if you die. There's some debate on if he starts with it though. On one hand, he used it against Dormammu. On the other, never tried in Infinity War. Or he could BFR Cole, but again, debatable if he'd start with it.

Well with infinity war there is the excuse that futures he saw where he abused that didn't end up so great, but he'd have to do it basically immedately as the RSB's a gigantic blast.

Not sure. I'd probably vote for Cole as of now, and wait for what others think.

Strange could

Have the Ray Sphere Energy itself (not the explosion) be completely invisible and succ him with no chance of turning him to butterflies

So

Yeah dunno

How does that help when he's Vaporized, sucked of Neuroelectricity, and given Conduit cancer all simultaneously

Not if he's many many types of dead and has no prep to make a loop

I'm assuming this is MCU Strange?

If so, then could Cole see through Strange's illusions, or get around Strange's magical defenses?

Most importantly though. Couldn't Strange teleport him with the sling ring, or send him to the dark dimension?

Ray Sphere Blast kinda makes illusions useless.

He could

He doesn't in character and he kinda can't when he's atomized

Its totally in character. Strange sent Loki away to avoid a conflict and attempted to trap Thanos in the dark dimension in their fight.

I was more referring to the latter, and Cole has Teleportation to not get sucked in anyways.

He never tried to get Thanos in the dark dimension, he used the mirror dimension to BFR his attacks, but he has no way to get to the Dark Dimension or get someone else there.

I love all of the backstory and lore you put into all of your vs threads. They make them 10x more interesting

Anywho, this is a pretty interesting match up. Strange has the superior AP and durability with his magic (assuming this is IW Strange) and his hax is amazing, but beyond that he's a glass cannon. Cole maybe be lacking in raw power, but his regen makes him nigh impossible to kill via raw AP and his hax makes up for the power gap.

So now it really depends on who does what. As said before, Strange can't really kill Cole via raw power, so his only options are to BFR him to the mirror dimension or time loop. Cole's only options to win here are to either Ray Sphere blast strange or black hole (I guess Ionic Drain is an option).

We saw in Ragnorok that Strange can be pretty liberal with his TP BFR, but we didn't see much of that in IW (though I blame that on PIS), and we know that he only uses the Time Stone when pushed to his extremes. Cole has also shown to be pretty liberal with his hax. The first thing he did after getting John's powers was walk over to the next city with his Conduit army and then RSB it to hell. He also doesn't like to mess around, so he's also pretty quick to use Ionic Drain once he see's he's in trouble. We've never seen him use black holes, but they're definitely an option.

Strange could potentially use shields to block the RSB or maybe even transmute it, but it'll do nothing against the radiation is spreads (which could either give him super cancer or possibly even mutate his genetics) and the drain effect. Cole could also potentially escape the portal-based BFR, as he could just teleport out of the way. The only BFR that will work on Cole is the one to the mirror dimension, cause if Strange just TP's him to another part of Earth, Cole will just teleport back.

I think I'll give this one to Cole high difficulty. He's shown to be pretty quick with RSB, and it ignores durability in like 3 ways, 2 of which can't be seen.
