Yeah, it does. It lets her react to threats before she knows they are there.
But yeah you're right. Or, wait, I'm assuming 9-C Uten is being used, but if we're using 9-A Uten then Uten will win. Basically this is either Connie stomps or Uten stomps depending on the version used.
9-C Uten is being used, otherwise it would be an stomp. The AP difference is less than x1.36, that isn't enough to stomp. Take into account that Uten is a trickers, he will cheat Connie avoiding direct contact.
is the ability to react to oncoming attacks without the need for conscious thought. As such, those with this ability will automatically dodge and possibly counter oncoming attacks through muscle memory or instinct.
You'd still need to be able to perceive the attack to begin with.
And honestly I don't think Connie has Instinctive Reaction; what she did could have just as easily been good hearing, but that's for another thread.
Uten's has always been hard for me to gauge in a thread. It depends a lot on where the battle takes place since his whole fighting style revolves around using the scenery in various manners to trick the opponent into a certain pattern.
Things like making the whole ground sans where they stand invisible so they are tricked into thinking they can't move from a single spot and are sitting ducks for knife spam, making a building/wall invisible to act as some 'invisible barrier' and other such things.
I don't know the other character enough to know whether this would work on her or not but the scenery is good enough for Uten to make use of all the tricks he has.
Not much about Connie, just pretty skilled and agile fighter, it also has Rose's sword but against Uten isn't nothing special; her "Instintive Reactions" aren't nothing unreal or superhuman, touch her and she counter nearly instantaneously.
Well, as a manner of comparison, Cruz is an extremely good analythical thinker when it comes to seeing through others abilities and he still took a good while to see through to what Uten's power really was.
The standard battlefield helps when it comes to his tricks so it seems to compensate and instinctive reaction wouldn't let her know about him making parts of the battlefield and objects invisible.
I think Uten wins via his invisibility tricks on the overall battlefield (of which her reactions wouldn't see through) + knife spam to overwhelm her reactions and being more of a tactical fighter. Eve was experienced enough and had been fighting in the Black Spot along with Blade ever since they were children, but still needed Cruz's help to see through his power.
Uten makes stuff around invisible to trick her and then pulls a Sakuya knife spam throughout the match while playing it safe.
