Sonic Vs. Simon Belmont

Simon is resistant to almost everything Sonic can do, has higher AP (9 universes vs around 5), and has much more expirience as a fighter then Dracula plus Petrification and Holy Manipulation

Voting him

Isn't holy manio largely just regular damage, in a similar vein to like fire manip or whatever

In his case no, it's a blinding light that purifies anything that has done Evil.

Albeit it won't work on Sonic so ignore it

Petrification and Sealing though....

Sonicverse has more than 14 universes or so

As for the petrification and sealing, well:

1: Is this the sort of petrification that fully turns you to stone or just cover him in stone?

2: He can travel universes with the chaos emeralds, so he can just go back to fight him.

Isn't Simon going to be downgraded to just Low 2-C at some point?

Simon would take this rather easily. He's dealt with invulnerable characters before like Dracula, is resistant to time stop, so chaos control isn't going to work, has experience with flying enemies in the past, and is likely going to gain a bit more versatility once I get enough info on the entire castlevania verse. Stopwatch can work on sonic, which is the icing on the cake for his win.

1: Indigo Asteroid should be able to absorb it.

2: Sonic isn´t a force of evil or that sort of stuff, so that doesn´t count.

As for the stopwatch part, infinite speed still nulls time stop even in speed equalized matches as far I know.

>Using stopwatch on an infinite speed character.

1: How it works then again? Just to be sure.

2: Really? If so, Sonic is still a more powerful 2-C than Dracula (leaving hax itself at a side), so he may still be able to go back.

1: Fine then, but Sonic can still also transmutate him to rings

2: Does he lead with it?

1. He resists that from Dracula
2. No
1: He can still use Deflect to tank it

2: Last resort or what then?

Votes so far:

Sonic: 1

Belmont: 0

Incon: 0

@Bob when has deflect ever stopped sealing or petrifying?
Well, his Deflect has helped him reflect back most of the attacks he receives, so he likely could just reflect it back at him.

Well, I guess that basically nulls both of them.

What else he uses?

Well, I guess this just goes down to mid-close combat.

As neither of them have a proper counter for that, it goes down up to who is better at it, something Sonic has an advantage in as far I know.

there's no proof of Sonic being better in close range combat than simon unless you can bring up some comparisons.

Sonic Battle. While Sonic is known for his speed, the dude knows how to fight.

Notable gameplay footage of it?

I´m glad Matt hasn´t stepped here, I guess he doesn´t care much about Vs. threads.

>Great examples

>Just retreats then uses the whip, then repeat.

Eh, most Sonic bosses do it that way too, so Sonic should have experience with this sort of fighting.

Edit: Oh Theglassman12, I just saw just comment too, okay, that changes my perspective, but as Sonic isn´t affected by time stop (which is the main way to make combos), it will be harder for him to hit Sonic.
