The name's Magikarp, Magikarp Magikarp

Pokemon's notorious fish takes on the worlds greatest spy

Magikarp vs James Bond

Both at 9B

Speed Equalised

Both have prior knowledge of the other

Bond has vehicles restricted

Gyarados: 1

James Bond: 7

James Bond is far more skilled and should be able to shoot and avoid Magikarp's attacks, since all it does to attack is jump and flail around.

Voting Bond for mobility and skill

Magikarp is around 6x baseline, so unless Bond has something placing him above baseline wall level this might be a stomp.

Also, that's done with magikarp's weakest attack.

Another thing, is this Magikarp with hydro pump? Cause that's a thing, and we count it on our page.

Flail could actually be a bit effective, since randomly flailing around is harder to predict than its normal straightforward tackles.

Also, what would prior knowledge entail? Would he know that magikarp is considered absolutely useless in Pokémon verse and underestimate it? Or would he know "magikarp is Wall Level and 6x stronger than I am?"

Name one 9-B firearm that is baseline. Now keep in mind that the Golden Gun can one-shot people who can tank higher-end 9-B firearms.

It shouldn't have hydro pump listed on its profile imo, I'll speak to Cal about it.

Not from the range that they start at, and not for a trained marksman like Bond.

Guns that are at or barely above baseline? Unless you're talking about canons/turrets or an elephant gun with very specific ammo, then all of them that we have. I haven't seen any above 21-23kJ in my time on Wikipedia looking at gun stats, they're pretty much all within 1.5x baseline.

Magikarp's weakest attack, an attack so weak that it's considered completely useless within Pokémon and magikarp and any other Pokémon can no sell it, is 4 times the strongest of these.

Jaws can take sniper bullets, pistol and shotgun bullets as well being electrocuted. Golden gun can one shot him and Jaws is far above baseline in durability

What are his feats other than tanking those? Pistols and shotguns are street level with little to no exceptions, and typically only high end anti-material/tank rifles or mounted weaponry like heavy machine guns are the only ones that make it into wall level. It it's the kind of rifle used for something like an assassination it's likely only high end street level to street level+.

I can give you other feats yes. Survived countless explosions, literally killed a shark with no equipmenr and survived its attacks with no effort.

Okay, if it's a standard block of c4, those things mass .57kg and have an explosive yield of 6.7 MJ/kg, so Jaws would be able to tank 3.8 MJ, or in other words about a 42-splash equivalent.

He's on the train as it tumbles over the cliff while exploding. Later in the game he finally dies because of a elevator shaft crashing and the explosion killing him but since Jaws survived this impact which is similar to the other impact, it suggests it was the huge explosion contained within the elevator was what caused him to die and not the impact. Keep in mind Jaws walks of fine from this train crash

So, If we take a random train from the time of that game and estimate the mass of its cars by multiplying the total mass by the ration of the carclength to the whole train length, we get over 49 tonnes. It was roughly a two second fall time, so I put that stuff in the splat calc and got that one train car's a fall would be about 100 splashes. Though with how trains are built he obviously isn't tanking all of the energy unless he's strapped to the front or bottom or whatever side hi the ground first, but he should still take a bunch, and from multiple cars, so I'm not sure how much his durability would have to be for this.

He doesn't, Jaws no-sells his attacks in every encounter. The only thing he can use to harm Jaws is constant chip-damage or the golden gun, and that's in the games

Even if he was only a tenth as strong as Jaws, a point where he wouldn't even be able to get chip damage, then he's still likely to stomp Magikarp.

Chip damage as in game-mechanic chip damage. Bond doesn't scale to Jaws without the Golden Gun.

Is it the sort of situation where you beat the boss in game but then a cutscene occurs and shows you that you haven't actually done anything to him? Or a situation where you only fight him when you're supposed to have the golden gun, but can still hit him with regular attacks, you just aren't meant to?

If it's not a situation like those or something similar we wouldn't just usually treat it as pure game mechanics that he can do that tiny amount of damage.

IIRC it's a situation where you can deal slight chip damage to him, but end up damaging him through other means (i.e. massive explosions, exposure to strong electricity) beyond your physical capabilities.

He appears in Goldeneye too. Pretty sure you're meant to kill him with the Golden Gun but you can harm him anyway, a la Kirby final bosses

Okay, thanks for the info. In that case I'll also vote for Bond via Golden Gun, range, and Magikarp being dumb and simple minded.

Ok 4-0 Bond

And yeah Jaws is physically way superior to Bond. In everything or nothing Bond's punches were pushing him back and affecting his movements, but not actually damaging him so he doesbt scale physically.
