Antvasima gave his blessing for this thread to be made. He can confirm it, we shared PMs and everything.

Well, you know this game?

I really don't think the page for the game or the characters should stay due to the high amount of controversy the game has accumulated over time, either due it's development or the creator's incredibly bad reputation amongst his own fans and other people (Th users in the original subreddit of the game really don't like him, seriously, just go there, I am not kidding).

Rules:

  • Calm down, seriously, this guy has a lot of bad reputation. So please calm down and do not ragepost.
  • This is staff only. To all staff members, if they spot a comment of normal user, please delete it.
  • Don't in-fight. If you get angry, leave and come back when you are calm.
  • DO. NOT. POST. STUFF. THAT. CAN. GET. YOU. IN. TROUBLE.
Why the pages should be deleted?
Short Answer: As a first issue, Yandere Simulator is a game that is unlikely to ever be finished, especially in the near future. Progress on it is pathetically slow, the game and the creator is surrounded in a ton of controversy and it's generally not a good idea to have pages of an unfinished game. It's like making a page for the DBS Broly right now. There's no real merit to it.

Long Answer:

Evidence for the deletion: I archived everything found in some forum and on reddit, in case he goes scorched earth at one point.

  • He announced Osana in 2016, she is the first rival. It is now 2018 and she is not in the game. To boot, the code for her is there… but if you manage to add her and bypass a fuction he made to crash the game when it detects her name, this happens https://youtu.be/dF3kFjFzEeM. As you can see, the character doesn't work and hasn't been worked on since that date according to rumors.
  • His subreddit (the one he made) had no downvote button, deletes and bans anyone who criticizes the game. https://www.reddit.com/r/yandere_si...ere_devs_new_subreddit_will_backfire_greatly/
  • His fanfiction account contains stories about [REDACTED]. Look it up yourself, not gonna link it here.
  • States (Indirectly) that he was indeed involved with an underage girl named Sisefs, but shifts the blame. https://archive.fo/XATdF
  • Sisefs spilling the beans about the whole situation. http://archive.is/0BzX
  • More on Sisefs spilling the beans. I can't show it right here because it can be problematic.
Should we allow his work to be on the wikia? I don't think so, as you can see he is an impulsive, resentful, lazy and crazy person. And his game will probably never be finished due to all this and all the problems that can arise, due to him being a ticking time bomb.

Well, if this game is unfinished and will remain that way, I personally don't mind deleting any related profiles.

I also don't think we should have profiles for a game that is generously in an Alpha Stage that comes from a really unstable / controversial dev.

While I agree that YS should be deleted because it's likely that the game will not be able to finish, having piece of sh*t developer shouldn't affect the profiles. At all. Just look at Rurouni Kenshi for example. The creator of the manga is a downright pedophile. Does that reasoning enough to kill the profiles? I think not. The product did nothing wrong. Developer did. The verse/product itself is innocent.

Reinhard has a good point.

Actually no. Did you read the part in which he stole some models and art? That is plagiarism, the product isn't innocent due to that, he just dragged it down with him due to that and if he releases it, he will get into some hot water.

Plus, the Kenshin dude apologized, this guy is in legit denial. Kenshin ended, which doesn't hurt the brand much, the game is not even an alpha, which will hurt the development.

Also, this is staff only, you are not supossed to be here.

Having plagiarized works isn't enough to delete the profiles. They are many verses in this website that have way worse controversy than that. Hotline Miami has rape, Grand Theft Auto literally has several cases in their hands like literal torture, Mass Effect has controversy against pornography, I can go on. Mario Bros also has a lawsuit of Plagiarism.

Apologizing isn't enough to wash the hands of pedophilia. Kenshin should be far worse than the developer. Ender's Game's creator, while there's no profile yet, is constantly saying how he despises LGBT community and won't stop anytime soon. Ender's Game isn't banned. Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds aren't technically finished. It's still okay.

I just can't stand the second reasoning at all. If it is never going to be finished, sure, why not. But because developer is ass? It's just no. It's profile equivalent of shooting a baby because his father is a serial killer. It's just straight up injustice.

What?! wait what, why?

Please don't derail, especially over controversy.

@Konoguna

Youtube it. It's fairly old news by now.

@Sera

Was just asking :/

Anyways if you ask me I'm fine with keeping the pages if they don't hurt the wiki in any way. having some information is better than having no information

Also, a more fair warning, this is dangerously getting into territory that could get us slammed by FANDOM since we're a wiki labeled "for everyone". So let's drop the author/dev thing and solely focus on it being an unfinished product.

I agree with Matthew and Sera. Since this is an unfinished product, I don't mind if we delete the related pages.

@Konaguna

Sorry, the top part wasn't directed at you, it was those above u.u

I know a lot steam games specifically those made by indie developers have games that are "out" but are technically still in beta. The worst of the bunch take years to technically fully release if at all.

Perhaps a rule stating not to post profiles of games that aren't fully released, after all, you wouldn't upload a half finished profile page?

"Please don't post profiles of characters from games that are in the process of development as they tend to not be the finished. In some circumstances it maybe okay to, for example Fortnite, as it developed by a AAA developer. If you are still not sure, politely ask a member of staff on their wall."

Thank god this is in order now.

Let's not derail it, we dodged a bullet here.

You're right, but shouldn't it also be noted that the status of being incomplete shouldn't matter unless it affects the power scaling? Street Fighter V was objectively unfinished before the Arcade Edition came out.

I think that a rule about not making profiles for games and other media that have not been released yet should probably be enough.

So to start with, which pages do we need to delete?

I don't think it's limited just to power scaling. Beta testing is a very wide field; if it's in the game, it's subject to change by the developers.

Okay. I will handle it then.

I would also appreciate if somebody could come up with a draft text for an editing rule.

"If you discover a page that doesn't meet the criteria please report it this thread."

Something like this perhaps?

"Please do not create profiles and verse pages for games and other media that have not been released yet. There is usually insufficient information available for proper scaling and they may not even ever be finished. If you discover such pages, please report them in the profile deletion request thread linked to in the front page of the wiki."

I am not sure if that is necessary.

Well Fortnite is a completed, finished game. It just constantly has newer elements get added to it. Yandere Simulator is still in Alpha and has been for years with no sign of getting out.

So, is my suggested wording of the regulation acceptable?

I have added it.
