The Godwoken vs. World Guardian

I honestly think that World Guardian pulls a win out here.

They trade status impairments blow-for-blow and both have ways of resisting each other's hax, such as it is for 5-B Godwoken. But this is pretty much the classic song; World Guardian can do anything GW can better.

The main win condition for both is this: Mortal Blow for Godwoken and massive stat amps for World Guardian.

Mortal Blow will instantly kill a significantly wounded target, but it will be hard to land on WG for two reasons: 1: Getting WG to the point that he can land Mortal Blow will not be easy. WG has a lot of survivability assets that will make this hard. Speaking of survivability, that is #2: WG can survive it with Barricade, Resonance, and Immortality. All three of these will prevent the kill, with two surviving the blow and one bringing WG back if he dies.

WG's stat amps gives him a massive advantage. Between potions, abilitties, and curses, WG can make himself significantly stronger and more durable. Combine this with heavy damage abilities like Death's Swiftness or Berserk and the GW is completely done for.

It isn't impossible for GW to win, but it is an uphill battle. World Guardian should take this with moderate to low difficulty.

What counters does the World Guardian have against Time Warp(it is probably just King Crimson), Chicken Claw(Transmutation into a chicken), Maddening Shriek(causes madness), Shackles of Pain and Soul Mate(Your positive effects are mine, my negative effects are yours), Infect(causes a disease which reduces stats), Teleport, Petrification, Terrifying Cruelty(Fear manipulation, Source Vampirism(Attacks the soul to gain power, causes EE if weakened soul or dead body) and Annihilate(Existence Erasure + Prevention of Resurrection + Power null).

Plus, GW also has Berserk mode(Death Wish), Resurrection(via Glowing Idol of Rebirth ) and Damage Reflection like the WG. It can also use Break the Shackles to remove any binding ability or statuses.

I am aware that WG has resisted Source Vampirism like attacks before but they were from a (at least) 8C character , plus GW resisted soul hax from 2C Gods, specifically Amadia and one other. which only caused it to be drained of Source and slightly weakened. At this point, the GW simply used Source Vampirism on others to regain its power. GW can also curse the 2C Gods in his 5B version. Curse virtually removes all stat amps from the WG(although he can remove the curse and reamp himself via Holy manip).

It seems that the GW profile has missing feats and some other stuff.

I feel that GW is way more haxed and hence voting for him atm but might retract it if counter arguments are given.

1. Time Warp is only "possible" time manipulation, so I'm not assuming he has it here.

2. Chicken Claw is contact-only. WG can easily keep his distance.

3. WG has resisted Zaros' aura, which can mind control thousands. Maddening Shriek (and Dominate Mind) will not cause him to go mad.

4. Shackles of Pain and Soul Mate are canceled out by Barricade, which negates all negative effects for some time. This way he can hurt GW without dying.

5. Infect is just a debuff which can be removed with Freedom and Rejuvenate.

6. 5-B WG doesn't have Source Vampirism or Annihilate, he only gains these after he becomes a Source Master and completes the final ritual (Annihilate is even further down the line).

7. This is true about Death Wish. I actually didn't know about the Glowing Idol. I need to add that to his profile. That does make this different.

8. The gods weren't 2-C when they contacted the Godwoken. They were broken and crippled by the God King's draining and were dying. While the Seven at max power should be 2-C (or at least 1/7th of 2-C, since all 7's avatar is 2-C), they don't show 2-C power in the first part of the game. This doesn't effecting their soul manipulation, though. Only showings and statements of soul hax, not power, justifies higher end soul hax.

However, in light of all that is said here, I will be changing my vote to Inconclusive. These two are very even.

1. Nothing to say.

2. Teleport + Chicken Claw/Petrifying Touch/Any petrifying skill fixes the issue of contact. Not to mention, he can scatter the teleportation pyramids around the area and teleport to each whenever required like Minato.

3. I don't know much about WG and am only basing off of his profile, so I won't say much.

4. For some time = How long? Plus GW can use them for a max of 3 times in one fight(although the Source Point limit is probably just gameplay mechanics, so its probably spammable)

5. Can't argue with that. Its not much of a threat anyway as it doesn't deal damage. Just wanted to exploit the WG's lack of resistance to disease.

6. True enough. This is why he doesn't get a decent match-up with anyone as his more potent hax options only come later in his 4A and 2C versions.(This match is an exception)

7. Yeah, resurrection should be added to GW's profile.

8. Even if the Gods weren't 2C then, they should still be above 5B. Also, the Gods should at least have better soul hax than Ryker who was going to destroy the souls of thousands in his mansion basement in the graveyard in order to give the GW an extra Source Point. Not to mention, he has been living in the Driftwood Graveyard for years and has been constantly draining the dead people's souls' Source in order to keep himself intact and not a skeleton like the God King's other servants. They should also be better than Hannag, the inventor of Death Fog who kills and consumes the Source of an entire forest worth of animals to give you an extra Source Point.

WG has pretty good defense and resistances. GW has better attacks, versatility, hax and mobility(via agility increasing skills and multiple types of teleportation - personally teleport, teleport enemies, portals, Minato style teleport via pyramids and position swap no jutsu via Nether Swap)

In fact, GW can use Nether Swap to swap positions with WG whenever he uses any ranged attack. Damage reflection can be rendered useless by that forcing WG to fight at close range which opens up hax options like Petrifying Touch and Chicken transmutation.

Those teleportation types give GW an immense advantage even in speed equalised imo and hence not changing my vote.

2. WG has almost the exact same teleportation with Lodestones and various teleports. Contact is a threat, but touching WG will be hard considering WG can keep GW at range with the Staff of Armadyl and stuns/crowd control.

3. Barricade lasts for about 10 seconds in game. I also forgot Freedom and Resonance Stop both Shackle abilities, with Resonance preventing it and Freedom breaking it.

7. I've added it. So these two both have extra lives from Golden Idol and Immortality, respectively.

8. GW has soul hax in the several thousands, no doubt, but WG has similar abilities. The Staff of Armadyl is capable of draining the souls of gods, one of whom is literally composed of thousands of souls. They are nearly equal in this regard.

This is such a good match honestly. I'm still on inconclusive.

I'll plug the match, but I'm not going to encourage them to vote in a way they don't please. Hopefully they think this is Inconclusive like the rest of us by their own processes.

Man, at this rate both this match and Alucard vs GW will complete (though GW is losing the Alucard fight).
