Voldemort vs Randall Flagg

You.

Are the best.

I'll have my vote ready in a little bit after I do something IRL.

Alright, here's what I think.

Voldemort has some good advantages. He's at least one tier higher than Flagg with some of his raw attacks, has enough spells to match the Walkin' Dude's versatility, and is also one of the few characters I know of in Tier 8 who can legitimately do something against Flagg's absurd range. He'll be shielded from Flagg's mind reading to an extent, and he's got experience fighting other wizards. (Which is implied to be the case with Flagg too, but not outright shown)

Problem is, Flagg has counters for everything good that he can do. Every spell that isn't Fiendfyre-level or higher will just bounce off Flagg's barrier once he has it up, and Fiendfyre itself can be countered thanks to Flagg's teleporting range, which is at least as good as Tom's if not much better. (He teleported away from that nuke I mentioned some time ago and was next seen on a remote beach where the natives didn't even speak English.) And while Voldemort has his mind reading, Flagg actually showed in one of his most humiliating moments that he can "feel" when people are reading his mind, so that won't be much of an advantage. A direct mental battle is also a bad idea for Tom. Very bad.

Beyond that, Flagg's magic and psychic powers are a lot scarier than Voldemort's. In terms of "ending the fight", Flagg has more options, better options and better range on a lot of those options. And as far as Voldemort's hax defenses, they don't cover enough of what his opponent can do here, and he's never dealt with any mind control, psychic attacks or illusions as powerful as what Flagg has shown.

In the end, it just boils down to the Dark Lord being outclassed. Not a stomp, but decisive. Voting Flagg.

I'm not sure anyone's going to be able to top that, soooooooooooooooo.......

I mean, I haven't actually specified what Flagg can do (due to the message above already becoming quite long), so someone could easily question that.

If Meosos were around, he'd probably be the one to defend Voldy if nobody else decided to. He always did.

Bump again. After the other other thread which shall not be named, this one looks especially good.

I have been told that Type 8 Immortality only gets restricted if said immortality relies on a higher dimension, and I have no idea why it was worded the way it was. I'm still going to resrict it though, Since Randall can't really get around it.

Voldemort's Type 8 isn't combat applicable anyway. It took him months to years of prep and outside help just to resurrect one time, and he was effectively unable to fight at any point between his death and his rebirth.

Besides that, Flagg actually does have ways to incapacitate without triggering some Type 8, so even if it were viable, it wouldn't be much help in the end.

I mean, he's still techically alive.....

But since this is opperating on SBA win conditions, guess I don't need to restrict it.

King's getting no luck here. Okay, I guess he does have quite a bit of luck with Randall getting a non-stomp match, but he's rather unlucky by virtue of the fact that no one can really hope to top his reasoning.

Nobody can :^)

The feeling of making someone go into a crisis with just one line

L I K E A B O S S

I mean, don't get me wrong. If either of these characters gets the win, I'll be happy for it.

The other threads of today shall not be spoken of.

I dunno, It killed the Composite Tree.

Voldemort's teleportaton is on par with Flagg's, actually, since Quiddich Through the Ages states that highly-skilled wizards can apparate between continents, and Voldemort is leagues above the average "highly-skilled wizard".

But anyway, teleportation is not gonna save Voldy here. Voting Flagg.

@Kal: How on Earth did I miss that...?

@Kep: I agree that Voldy's teleport range rivals Flagg's. My point about him teleporting onto a foreign island was more that Flagg can use the sheer range of his teleportation to avoid things such as Fiendfyre, which would chase him around the battlefield otherwise.

@King

You understand how badly you need a gardener when you call an alien to close a tree into a place made to prevent interference from tier 2s

Breaking news: A local thread not even closely related to memey material somehow goes directly to meme hell.

No, what I did not expect is that when I made this thread, the Thread that shall not be named got mentioned, another guy said that Composite Human was a mistake, and that I would bring up him beating down the composite tree, Therefore resulting in memes. That's what I didn't expect.

Kal with the hidden Machiavelli skills.

But yeah, we're probably derailing at this point. Better to leave the old topics alone now that they're dead. Please.
