Thanos vs Heaven Ascension DIO

Man, this is tricky because I know zilch about Marvel things. As far as I know, DIO being frailer than toothpicks isn't going to be a main issue if the main way of wiping each other out is by haxing each other.

DIO has Mind Control, while Thanos has Mind Manipulation (which IIRC is stronger). DIO has an advantage of long-distance BFR and Soul Manip. while Thanos has Physics and Dura Negation. The key question, though, is can Thanos resist Time Stop? If yes, he could probably take it. If no, the man's doomed as far as I know.

For future reference:

  • Infinite speed = The ability to cross literal infinite distances, move so fast that time literally stands still in your eyes, and move in a realm of actual stopped time through raw speed instead of the ability to simply stop it yourself.
  • Immeasureable speed = Movement beyond any and all measurable concepts of time. Period.
The latter is unquantifiably superior to the former. And in answer to the above, either of these speeds mean that Thanos laughs at DIO's timestop like it's a bad parlor trick. Plus there's the Time Gem, which I don't need to elaborate upon, since it's already been brought up by someone above me.
 
Now, the only reason I bring up the speed is because regardless of which one is superior, both effectively make time-stopping powers a non-factor. Speed is equalized (I think?), but since the two characters have those two ratings, it means the time-stop is null anyway.

I searched that shit so many times I don't know how I didn't see it. But now it's more tricky. Thanos has higher intelligence and some better ways to mess around with DIO, but Reality Overwrite (specifically its range) seems like a prevalent issue for Thanos. DIO stays a multiverse away, beating out the range for the Infinity Gauntlet, and then one BFR and it could mean trouble.

Can't say I'm comfortable enough to make a final answer because I still know nothing about Thanos or specifically everything in detail that could counter Reality Overwrite as an ability.
 
Could DIO's Acausality prevent Thanos from knowing about future and past actions of him? Could it make DIO "invisible" to him? (which is more or less how the second user of the gauntlet lose it.)
 
Time Gem cancels the Time Stop problem, Reality Gem can counter DIO's reality override, Mind Gem is almost definitely superior to the mind control DIO has. Power Gem also gives Thanos the durability to remain safe from essentially all of The World Over Heaven's attacks, not to mention DIO's.

Giving this to Thanos.
 
^I couldn't have put this better myself.

This match is essentially one man with good hax VS another man with the same hax and more. Also, considering the fact that DIO's arrogance and overconfidence dwarf even that of Thanos himself, he probably won't realize the fact that BFR is his only option until it's too late.

Another point to be made; Thanos has seen many other powerful beings before, whereas Heaven DIO encountering one other perso with his same exact powers caused him to lose his composure.
 
Because his Time Stop has never once worked on an immesurable or infinite speed character, while Thanos has.

Because Thanos's Soul Manipulation>DIO's
 
@J-Man:

1. Even with speed equalized, they're both effectively faster than time.

2. The IG's Time Gem tells DIO's time stop to go home and be a family man.

3. The IG's Soul Gem means Thanos can rip out DIO's soul the same way. And it will be much easier, since DIO is only 2-A via hax and the man himself isn't anywhere close to the IG's level of power.

I'll explain better when I have more time, if I need to.
 
Time stopped worked on Jotaro and Giorno with ger. One who was shown to be infinite like 5 seconds later and one who already was.


Doesn't give him a resistance though .

Why would it grant resistances unless shiwn or stated. Dont we do the opposite.

No. Because why would a time Stop affect people that move without time? We don't grant resistance unless shown, but in this case we grant resistance unless shown.
 
Yes and, he can effect GER who doesnt need time to move or act, ya gotta explain exactly why it wont work.

Also can't DIO just teleport the stones out of the gauntlet ?
 
Because that's affecting an infinite speed character, not an immesurable speed character, we do grant resistance in a speed Equal match, I know it's weird and all.

He can, and Thanos has many more ways to win.
 
Looking at it, the reason why ger isn't immeasurable happens to be because he cant go anywhere and anywhen, but he actually does have the time doesnt effect him part of it.
 
Everything Dio can do, Thanos can do and better.

Soul hax em? Thanos throws his gem.

Overwrite reality? Negged.

Stop Time? Fam, not even.

Punch him in the face? Power gem.

Mindhax? More like a disapointment.
 
Why would it get negged unless thanos actively wills it .

Technucally speaking highly debatable, stopping GER, someone who doesn't need time kinda a rad feat .
