Zenless Zone Zero Discussion Thread

So an interesting power level point.

Banyue has a trust event.

In that event, he goes to Blazewood to meet up with Lighter.

In that event we learn that Banyue was asked by his students about a particular fighting style which took him to the outer ring and there he met lighter and had a duel with him. So Banyue is back for a rematch in the trust event and depending on the dialogue choice you either learn that Lighter lost the last duel or that they both intend to give it their all in the current one.

Regardless of the choice decided, they have a new match that ends in a complete draw.

uhhh wow. looked it up and sure enough, here it is lol

granted, it was a sparring match, and obviously it happened off screen so we don't really know for sure how hard the two of them went, but going off the dialogue it does at least seem like both were putting effort into the fight and not holding back that much

this has some verrrrryyy interesting scaling implications. obviously characters like caesar and billy would scale to lighter, anby would scale to billy, characters like section 6 would upscale from them...this might open the door for more characters getting higher in scaling lol. at the absolute bare minimum characters downscaling from the banyue feat might be possible

why would billy not scale? he should be directly comparable to lighter being the former champion of the outer ring, and lighter himself has acknowledged his strength. anby is at the bare minimum relative to billy, but if you wanna take her word directly by her own admission then she's said she's straight up stronger than him. at the bare minimum i think those two scaling would be fine, given the lore implications of them being in the upper echelon of agents strength wise anyways
 
I've been saying this, the story doesn't give two ***** about what we think each Agent should scale to. Outside of Void Hunters, every agent is presumed to be comparable to the other.

Not to mention I'm quite certain there is mentions of Billy and Lighter having fought too but I can't find the scans for it atm.

Current Billy isn’t the same as the past Billy, I don’t think I have to elaborate more on that.
I think people tend to forget that Proxy deadass almost died because Billy decided to run away from an Ethereal instead of neutralizing it.
Same Ethereal got one shotted and sent flying by Lighter.
Billy is a jokester and what not but I don’t think he’ll take a joke as far as forcing the proxy to run away from an Ethereal (someone who is physically not built for that activity) when he could of one shot sent it flying like Lighter could.
There’s also like many, many times more where Billy lost his gun/ran out of bullets and just pretty much gave up fighting, only to be saved by Anby.

I mean 2.3 and 2,4 made it very clear Banyue was significantly stronger than Spook Shack and Dialyn.

So it does care to some degree.
 
Didn't Banyue lowkey fail to kill Wandering Hunter or was there some weird plot reason why Spook Shack could

eh, idk, it's weird. when lighter saves billy in that scene he's mentioned the fact that he's "gotten rusty," but there's also a later interaction they have where lighter mentions the fact that billy has "gotten good at hiding his edge." i do think it's probably just a mix of both, but regardless i don't think even a "rusty" billy would be so astronomically weaker than lighter to the point where he just wouldn't scale to him at all, especially given the fact that billy has shown himself capable of fighting alongside the sons of calydon just fine like during the events of 1.4

iirc i think wandering hunter just retreated before banyue could kill it. banyue mentions after the wandering hunter dips out that he was "just about to get serious" so it seemed more like he was just testing it than anything else

ZZZ is a bit weird when it comes to agents and how strong they are (outside of VHs) but i do think there are instances of agents being clearly depicted as superior to others, banyue being the shining clear example of that

stage laser turrets, plugboo's EM waves, birkblick's lasers, lasers from characters like orphie and seed, laser attacks from various in-game enemies, etc. etc.

i feel like there are a lot of avenues for potential higher speed scaling for the verse. i definitely don't think LS/FTL ZZZ is impossible. it's just a matter of finding feats and determining the legitimacy of the lasers themselves

What if: ZZZ lasers and other get accepted as Lightspeed and characters upscale

But the calcs said: 7% speed of light,,

Thats.................... my "fear".... probablh, idk

to be fair if it's a feat every character can scale to then VH tiers should upscale from it, plus characters with vital view would still be getting the 34x perception amp so FTL would likely be possible regardless
