I think it can be locked as a thread, since the majority agree that Hakai is EE in manga as well fra and the matter has from what I can see been more or less resolved.

Someone needs to fix Son Goku (Chou)'s profile a bit. He has EE in the wrong key, and he still has Matter Destruction and possibly Soul Destruction listed via hakai.

Nobody has given the solid reason for hakai being able to destroy the soul excet the occam razor which again is a possibility at best

Is that the reasoning? Seems to rely a bit on speculah. Also doesn't manga Frieza still has his halo, indicating he is still dead? While the Vegeta / Majin Buu soul destruction via being 'killed' again statement is non-canon, I'm pretty sure it can be another similarily viable solution here. Or at the very least, make it no where clear cut as much as people say it is.

Even the 'possible soul destruction' was a bit of a comprimise here, but straight up EE? And did you guys already edit him before the discussion was even finished, again?

Well Frieza is temporarily alive with a body, if Frieza's body is destroyed his soul just goes back to hell, but Beerus directly claims to be able to destroy Frieza, and his soul if he doesn't cooperate at that moment to the point he can never be resurrected, aka doesn't exist, since if shreds of him were left then he could be resurrected. This would logically mean Beerus can erase him from existence.

Also it is highly consistent with every other showing and interpretation of Hakai in all other Dragon Ball media, which all have it as existence erasure. So honestly it would be more speculative to list it as anything else, when it is at least implied to be EE in manga by Beerus, and all other media directly state that it is.

Then again its just speculative and assumptions as nowhere did manga show hakai as erasing the soul it could just be Beerus threat or bluff but why are you guys taking Beerus so seriously?

@SSJRyu but everything, even your beginning statement, is just speculation.

Using the current legitmate argument (Occam's Razor) only warrants a possiblity.

But I can also use Occam's Razor against the argument, and probably even better.

- Manga Hakai is already depicted differently and would directly contradict the current premise. (The reduce to ash part)

- The rest of the franchise shows that killing a soul/undead destroys their soul.

The first evidence removes the first assumption (That the previous depictions are all just effects) and the second piece of evidence just replaces the second assumption (That manga hakai = anime hakai).

So yeah, if anything, using occam's razor debunks even the 'possibility soul destruction', which tbh you guys are starting to make sound like something we should actually remove.

The manga is vague enough for simple normal ki to have soul destruction properties.


It wouldn't surprise me in the least that ki or the energy that is used in DB have soul destruction, matter and energy manipulation, time space and possibility alteration ability and resistance.

The manga barely differentiates between Ki and God ki.

Frieza has both a body and soul at that point and just destroying the body would simply place him back in other world. The notion of dying a second time and disapearing does not apply in canon, you need to destroy the soul as well in canon, adn some non canon to actually.

It is made clear that Beerus can destroy the body and soul of a being completly in one fell swoop as he threatens to do so to Frieza at that instant, to the point cannot cannot revive even.

And we have seen regular people revived after being atomized with the planet when Buu blew it up, or another more extreme example is Buu got revived as Uub after he was completly destroyed and dead, and his soul cleansed.

Yet Beerus destruction of the body and soul is superior to any of this as it would be imposible for Frieza to revive.

It is a logical jump to say Beerus would accomplish this with Hakai like in any other DB media, however even if you said his regular ki can completly destroy body and soul beyond even these levels, that would still give him existance erasure body and soul via regular god ki. Either way wether by normal ki or Hakai he can erase people from existance. The way Hakai is expalined in the rest of DB media simply adds credance to this as one of his skills and makes it more likely to be via Hakai. Goku also questions if Beerus could kill Zamasu with a "special skill", and tries Hakai hmself, implying that Beerus Hakai is capable of doing more severe damage than a normal attack, which can already kill foes like Buu anyway from a strong enough fighter.

Yes, he has a body and soul. And halo. Kinda ignoring the fact that muddies the water.

The rest of your argument assumes we were saying it would be a trait of normal ki, but that was just Infinite speculating, I doubt he meant anything serious.

Then again why would Beerus consider all this before saying a threat,Its very unlikely that Beerus thought about it this much and then saying a threat.

But then again we have no proof that hakai in manga specifically works like in anime or others so soul destruction is still unlikely
