Yang vs Hitmonchan

Random encounter.

EDIT I WILL NOW INCLUDE A STANDARD MOVESET FOR HITMONCHAN

Ability: Inner Focus

Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Bulk Up, Close Combat

ummm who wins?

Hitmonchan is slightly stronger, but Yang is faster, way tougher, and probably smarter too. She's also got her Semblance, so... yeah, I'll go with Yang.

Oh shoot I was just about to make a thread for this. Dunno where everyone's getting that Yang is faster because Chan's combat speed is high hypersonic just like hers. Their durability is also almost an exact match. Out of the three main stats, the only one that seems to be vastly different between the two is attack potency, and in that regard, Hitmonchan has a very, very clear advantage.

Yang might have the range advantage, but getting up close should be easy enough for Chan regardless. Since Chan's attack potency is significantly higher than Yang's durability, Yang's Semblance isn't going to be helping her very much. Like, ooh, the AP is equal now? Too bad she's dead. A nice Vacuum Wave should do Yang in pretty handily.

Since Yang cannot so easily one-shot Hitmonchan, even if there was a big speed difference, Hitmonchan should be able to either use Agility to keep up with her or Counter to give Yang a taste of her own medicine.

They were scaled from Adam Taurus (who obliterated a giant mech with a single strike), which scaled to Blake (who was comparable to him in power), who scaled to Yang (who is currently partners with Blake), but Adam's feat was recalculated to Large Building, so RWBY had to be downgraded using the Large Building feats already present for each of the characters.

Since I'm the one who gave him those stats, and he literally punched a hole into a legendary Pokemon (Registeel), I think he wins.

No and no. Did you even look at Hitmonchan's page?

I would suppose that Hitmonchan would have any moves he can learn by levelling up, which would include Agility and Counter, which both counter whatever speed advantage Yang might have since Yang can't one-shot Hitmonchan.

Oh no. He's stronger than that, that's a lowball.

The images aren't working, but the Regi's were right at the epicenter of the blast, jumping in right as Groudon and Kyogore clashed, which gave them excellent feats for durability. Because of the special nature of the Hitmonchan (superior to that of your average one), it both speed-blitzed and punched a hole in the Regi-steel's body.

Really those stats should be upgraded, but I lowballed so I wouldn't have to deal with the crap that I usually do.

If we go by what Hitmonchan did with Regi-steel (it only died due to being poisoned by Toxic), it's basically a Glass Cannon. It should have at the very least MHS+ reactions. Town Busting Punches and have a durability comparable to Red's Pikachu.

Seems that I'm about convinced that Chan takes this. How exactly do you lowball that to MCB, anyway? That's a huge step down from country level.

Because he's a "normal" Pokemon. I placed what Pikachu's stats were closest to essentially on him because Pikachu was also a special case within both that world and the anime universe. It also took him multiple punches to get the effect, though it did lift Registeel through sheer strength and defeat it with Sky Uppercut.

Isn't the whole "Pokemon can only know four moves" thing a game mechanic, as made crystal clear by the anime? Still, a well-placed Mach Punch should do the trick. Meanwhile, there are plenty of ways other Hitmonchan moves could screw Yang over: Burning her with Fire Punch and thus reducing her Attack, paralyzing her with Thunder Punch and thus neutering whatever speed advantage she might have, or just totally accepting this speed disadvantage and hitting Yang up with a Counter.

I say we should just start voting now. First to, hm, five wins? It seems clear to me that Hitmonchan is the winner.

Yang Godstomps, Hitmonchan couldn't do anything to harm her, her semblance can sponge all the damage then smash it at the glass canno
This thread has no reason to exist anymore. Hitmonchan got a massive downgrade (that I do not agree with), making this thread completely pointless.

You're wanking super-hard though.
