Hello my friends! This is a tournament that I wanted to do for a while, but I couldn't think of a good name for it, so I decided to just go hecc it, let's do it!
I'll try to make a small, storyline tale based around the results, the debates and the conclusions reached, while also hopefully sparking some activity in the Versus threads. So, matches may take a little longer to be published individually, but it will all be done! Also, pardon my atrocious english, as it isn't my native language, but I'll try to make it work.
This is the great Wuxia and Martial Arts tournament. A tournament where skill, willpower and might are the true proponents to victory. My idea sparked from a fight between Rocky Balboa and Ip Man, and I started to reflect a bit about it, and I really liked the concept. The rules and criteria to be approved for this tournament are as follows:
Now, onto the bracket! Since the two of them are what motivated the tournament, I'll include Rocky and Ip Man as candidates already.

- The priority given for characters to be picked for this tournament are film characters with a focus on martial arts, whether they are more drama-oriented such as Rocky, or more focused on the action, such as Ip Man. I also prefer to keep just one character from each franchise, although more may be added if needed. If, for some reason, even that is insufficient, I'll also include characters of other pieces of life-action media and fiction in general.
- For the tier, characters will be in the 9-C range. If needed we may expand this to baseline 9-B, but I'd rather keep it in the 9-C range.
- This is a mostly hax-destitute competition, obviously. In fact, the less powers one has, the more likely it is for a given character to be approved.
- Fights in the tournament proper will take place on an open area with a few obstacles, as to allow some diversity in maneuvering.
- Weapons are forbidden. Characters will fight bare-handed, or not at all. The usage of poisons and similar things are forbidden as well.
- Speed won't be equalized except in extreme cases. In general, the difference between, say, Athletic Human to Superhuman is acceptable.
- If you cannot argue for your character or you just want to submit the idea, do not fret! This is a tournament more oriented for the characters themselves. I'll note, however, if any people contributed significantly to a given character's victory, if there are any special cases. I'll exclude myself from this, as I like to analyse all fights really.
