Let's see if this will ever even work.

This is an essentially topicless thread meant to be used as a substitute to the wiki chat. You can talk about anything, there are no subjects whatsoever you need to address necessarily. Just a hangout place to talk with your wiki pals.

Have fun!

In all seriousness though I hope it doesn't, know for a fact there are users with no discord accounts, or users uninvited to the commonly used servers, or users which are only in a single server and not others, while this can just be a platform for anyone :y

****

Also hi dad

I can see that, tbh. Something cozy about having stuff you made do with.

Like the first animation program I had, didn't even have any other color than red, white, yellow, blue, green and black, it was the shittiest thing imaginable, but people still made amazing shit with it, including moi (not to brag). It got to the point I was overwhelmed by Flipaclip n stuff, shit felt daunting and heartless, almost.

Features can't make up for memories n all

Haha, there is actually a argument that is NOT me being stuck in the year 2018. Welcome to my TED-talk:

The biggest difference i think can be made between the two is how unbinding and personal the chat room is. Basically, if someone hops into the chat (And everyone with a Fandom account could do so), he was basically willing to have a chat with anyone (Or the person who were currently present), which made it super casual. Discord on the other hand requires you to be invited into the server in the first place, which severly limits the possibilites of chat partners, making it feel like a exclusive club rather than a possiblity to have casual chat.

Next is how Chats lack in feature is actually a plusside. Nothing is saved in the Chat Room compared to Discord, meaning that any conversation you had with someone else can only be continued or wrapped up right in that moment. Because Discord saves the messages, you can come back to this messages at a later date. additionally, it allows people to be a bit more open, as they dont have to fear someone pulling up nasty stuff they may have said in passing months ago but dont adhere to that anymore.

To keep things short, the Chat Room was unironically and unintentionally the closest thing we have had to a genuine face to face conversation. At least for me. Discord feels like a live thread to be honest

To be fair admittedly, the chat history for Discord can be turned off.

But yeah I can see the idea of accessibility in wiki chat, that was felt by me the short while I was there too.

pretty active on discord. remind me, where's ovens in this scaling chain family tree, cause i'm his son i think

Realtalk though, would it be feasible to install a super archaic chat room like the one Fandom used?

I'd actually like some reinstatement of the old chat. It was a beautiful time, though I may have a wee bit of rose-tinted glasses.

Discord is useful for a lot of things and objectively is probably better, but damn I liked that chat
