Why "Smoke" Manipulation?

Given that the page itself notes that manipulating any other type of vapor/aerosol also counts as an example of the ability, why do we not just name it "Aerosol Manipulation" or "Vapor Manipulation"? It's not as if the Smoke Manip side of the ability holds a special monopoly over it, either; many listed "Smoke" Users use vapors and/or aerosols other than smoke and forego actual smoke entirely, while also using different wording for the ability when listed on their profiles.
Am I just missing something?

Finnaly someone asked this!
I always wondered it, why call it only Smoke Manip if it allows user to control other Gases?
Wouldn't Gas Manip fit better if it allows other gases?

Because renaming all links to the pages that currently link to it is not worth the effort from what I recall.

I mean, this is kinda like asking:
Why 'Forcefield Creation'? It should be just 'Shield Creation' or 'Shield Manipulation' or 'Barrier Manipulation'
No offense tho.

I mean, this is kinda like asking:
No, not really. In fact it's basically the opposite since renaming "Forcefield Creation" to "Shield Manipulation" or somesuch would just be implicitly excluding other uses of forcefields from qualifying as said ability. Just add a note at the end of the page saying: "oh actually other types/uses of forcefields count as this ability too" and you'd end up with the same situation as the current Smoke Manip page

Because half of our ability pages are half-baked.

Personally I think Aerosol Manipulation is the best option if it were to be reworked, since vapors are generally just a gaseous substance that is ordinally liquid or solid at room temperature. Aerosols are more apt for suspended particles of any variety in gas.
