Yeah, the question is as the title suggests, I am wondering why most scans are imgur and why we even allow it, since the scans are constantly just disappearing...

It was seen as a reliable means to host scans for a number of years, and the unreliability has been a relatively recent development as scans used to be hosted in other places believed unreliable
