No strength has nothing to do with it the only way to avoid Ren in hxh is via ten(in vs battles resistances will also do this job) you could be stronger than the other person and still get haxed by Ren in hxh if you don't have ten activenot sure about this... Wouldn't you need to be stronger then your opponent to do Ren?

Yeah it's because youpi can resist it (not exactly resist since ten keeps the Ren out so the effects never happen) Ren is basically hunter's bloodlust or any malicious emotion manifesting in the form of nen it's mostly useless against other nen users unless your nen is vastly superior to the other user like meruem whose Ren can bypass ten of skilled hunters
