"Who Is Emio?" Discussion Thread

Recently, Nintendo's Twitter has been posting about some #WhoIsEmio hashtag, to the confoundment of many users on Twitter.
It appears it may be a new/upcoming horror game. Figured people might want a Discussion Thread for it.

"[Emio]The Japanese website is available. As already mentioned by others, "笑み男" = "smiling man", or literally "emio" when transliterated.Oddity: there should be a five character game code in the URL like "av5ja"... but instead, we just have "emio".https://nintendo.com/jp/switch/emio/index.html"

The link in that post is the official Japanese website.

& here's a video from Youtuber Nin10doland covering it:

Sorry for being awkward. It's my first time seen an M-rated Nintendo game.
No no, you were not being awkward!
I was expressing surprise in my own way.
Suicide references in a Nintendo game seems surprising, & I'm interested what the context for that could be!
