Whats the ap dif?

So if two people are sword fighting and they are evenly matched in ap with the exact same sword, then one powers up, and the other dude swings his sword down at the dude who powered up, and the dude who powered up grabbed the sword barehanded and crushes it. Whats the ap dif?
