What is the difference between "Above Average" and "Gifted"?

In my opinion, Above Average is like being generally pretty good at school subjects where you understand things faster than average, but don't have one area you really shine in. Gifted is a step up where you're generally smart, but you also have specific areas where you're exceptionally talented and perform like a real-world expert.
