For Rocket Racoon (MCU), there are scans with claims that a weapon is capable of destroying a moon. That was taken by the community to mean "capable of destroying the Moon", as the weapon is classified as Moon level.

Moons range wildly in size, in such a way that there isn't really a defined lower limit to the size a moon can have. Even if we exclude moons that are also called moonlets, there are still the Mars's moons, Deimos and Phobos, that are small and are definitely moons.

For claims of planetbusting we consider the smallest planet, why for the destruction of a moon would we consider one of the biggest?

isnt planet busting feat baseline to earth?

Standard sizes

  • Moon level: Earth's satellite Moon.
  • Small Planet level: Mercury.
  • Planet level: The Earth.
  • Small Moon level: While most other tiers have been into 3 sub-tiers, Moon level does not have Small Moon level due to the existence of Multi-Continent level. Simply put, the two intersect, and Multi-Continent level is far more common than Small Moon.

When you see someone bust a planet don't we bother checking if it's at least as big as the Earth to slap Planet level on the feat?

Should we really consider an alien stating something busts a moon as Moon level instead of Multi-Continent or lower, as most moons' gravitational binding energy are?

Without any evidence that points towards the planet being bigger or smaller than Earth (Such as an statement of it's diameter or the planet being based on a real one), we assume it as being Earth-sized as the safest baseline

Pretty much the same thing i said above, just change the word "planet" to moon
