Venusaur Vs Torterra

They're not the fastest pokemon, because let's face it, one is turtle and the other is a frog. Anyways, they'd very likely tank each other's attacks more than dodge it due to their bulks, though Torterra has the defensive advantage with an anti-crit ability which cripples razor leaf.

Dem chlorophyll though.

Still, the fact that they're not dodge-happy puts Venusaur at an advantage in a battle of attrition (both can heal themselves, are immune to each other's dust-based status effects as well as leech seed, ) due to poison attacks.

That's my take on it though.

Everyone and their mothers say it's a frog because of the english name.

I can't say I believe that. Especially when Bulbasaur's japanese name, Fushigidane, means "strange" or "mysterious bulb", meaning it has zero reference to a dinosaur.

Not to mention its body type.

Venusaur2
Please tell them that Venusaur is not a frog/toad.
