Varies tier in versus thread

If a character has "varies, from 9-B up to 1-A" as a tier, can I lock them at tier 1-C for a versus thread with someone else who is 1-C?

No sadly. We don't do that but I don't recall us ever having a discussion about it that I can remember. It would open up a lot of matches for multiple characters with Veries though.

• Even if a character has the potential to reach a certain tier, the use of any tier between that tier and the one it scales to is not allowed. For example, Avatar of Calamity cannot be used in a vs thread with a tier between High 7-A and 2-A or Unknown and 2-A depending on the used key.

What if said character (let's imagine him as 9-A base) has fought someone that is 5-B in the series, but his varies rating peaks at 1-C (say, 9-A normally, varies, up to 1-C with amps)?

Then his 5B rating should also be included in his tier section
