Updated Examples and Notable Users for Information Manipulation

FinePoint has allowed me permission to create this thread.

The purpose of this project is simple: to provide examples of each type of Information Manipulation, similar to the format used on the Danmaku and Conceptual Manipulation pages. I believe having more direct comparisons under each type - while still listing notable users - would help our site members more accurately determine which type a given ability falls under. As such, here is the proposed format;

1. Knowledge: text here
   • Examples: [Character A], [Character B], [Character C], etc.
2. Fundamental: text here
   • Examples: [Character D], [Character E], [Character F], etc.

Following this format, I would like to propose straightforward example cases of users who have abilities that are best representative of each type. Ideally, listing five representative users per type would be beneficial.

Additionally, it seems like Megaman X and Zero no longer have Information Manipulation on their pages, as they are listed under Notable Users. I suggest reviewing their inclusion and considering alternative examples if necessary.

I also encourage staff members to share their insights on potential additions or replacements. Here are some example cases I believe would be fitting under the formatting above;

From same verse, we have generator rex (his main power with Meta Nanite is info manipulation type 1 so he suits more to this example. And unlike Rex who has full scale Info manipulation, Alien X only has information destruction)

Since Alien X and Rex originate from the same verse, and supporters of the verse have suggested Rex as a more suitable alternative, I've replaced Alien X with Rex Salazar for now.

Edit; I've also gone ahead and added Rimuru Tempest. His Light Novel page has been selected. Suggestions for Type 1 would be most appreciated for now.

I actually started a project a long while back tackling the same general idea but for all power pages. As you can see from it being struck, I already tackled Info Manip back then, I was unaware it had been updated to a format splitting it in two applications.

I believe Pernida Parnkgjas is a good candidate for Type 1 Information Manipulation:

• It's his main ability and is very explicit in its explanations and showings, which is good for informing newer users what the ability entails without requiring them to have a great grasp of the material at hand.
• It's on a well formatted and well kept profile, so it has scans and references so that anyone who potentially has further desires to learn about the ability can further engross themselves into it without requiring any unassisted scouring of entire chapters or episodes to find it.

As long as the character examples are reasonable notable/well-known, and demonstrate the ability in a rather clearly understood manner, it should be fine.

Gojo for information type 1 seems reasonable as his unlimited void explains it clearly

• Domain Expansion (Type 1), which has Mind Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Perception Manipulation, Information Manipulation (Type 1) & Paralysis Inducement (Unlimited Void is a metaphysical territory that forces the targets to feel everything, suppressing their thought process and actions altogether by inputting an infinite amount of information into them. This effect is powerful enough to put a high-level cursed spirit like Jogo into a catatonic state, unable to process anything, and render regular humans unconscious, requiring two months of rehabilitation to heal from, despite only being subjected to only 0.2 seconds worth of the information stream. Unlimited Void can also affect souls)

I'd also add that the power examples need to be both clear cut and easily understandable on the page, and also preferably should have a link/scan or a reference.

The other thing is that we're trying to avoid just spamming the hell out of any particular medium for any given page. And that type 1 portion is looking very anime/manga-centric right now.

Type 2 portion is fine though.

I've taken the liberty of removing Ainz Ooal Gown. While he is a popular character, I feel that his Info Type 1 is rather limited.

I would’ve expected DC or Marvel to have some notable Type 1 users, but I haven’t found any. It's also possible I just haven’t looked in the right places.

That said, I’d argue in favor of including Uxie and Kishibe Rohan, as their Type 1 applications are both central to their abilities and clearly defined.

Type 2 portion is fine though.

I’ll defer this to the staff for discussion. Per Crabwhale’s guidance, we want to maintain a balanced list and avoid overrepresentation from any single medium.

And if not a direct example, I do think Gojo is deserving as being listed as a Notable User.

Edit; I would propose Cortana as a Type 1 candidate, although, it's possible that her page is outdated. If someone who is knowledgeable with Halo could elaborate or clarify in regards to her Type 1, this would be most appreciated.

Yeah that's more than fair.

I think it's fair to chop Rimiru in that case, as his Info Type 2 isn't necessarily a primary ability as much as they are tied to a couple of specific attacks.

Not necessarily. This can probably be applied now.

Though, I will say that in covering this thread, there are many profiles with Information Manipulation that do not distinguish between Type 1 and Type 2. Was there an update on Information Manipulation in the past that split it into types? I vaguely recall that being mentioned somewhere.

In any case, might be worth bringing up in the Powers Diversification Project thread or a thread of it's own. It seems rather important.
