Two New Abilities: Fission and Music-Based Ability That Isn't Necessarily Broadway Force

Okay, so I'm gonna propose two abilities: Fission and a music-based ability that can actually be separated from Broadway Force.

So in the case of Fission, I had asked people what the ability to split your either own will or your life force into several parts is as in the case of a goddess mentioned in Eliatopia lore, and one guy replied that it fits under an unused ability called "Fission." This is the thread: https://vsbattles.com/threads/goddess-ability-question.108414/

On the other hand, we have a music-based deal that isn't necessarily broadway force. What do I mean by that, exactly? Well, here's the deal.

Sound Manipulation is generalized sound. What I basically mean is, well, if you clap your hands, there's sound.

Broadway Force, on the other hand, is music-based, but its more overpowering in a way that it causes the environment around you to dance and sing along with you or something along the lines. It was the only music-based deal on the wiki (I should've told Tlimberg that the fact that Broadway Force is the only music-based ability on the wiki is why I was forced to use that as an ability in one character profile). While many abilities can have levels (minor, limited, non-combat applicable, whatever), broadway force is oddly specific in the way it was defined.

Now, getting into the specifics, well, the difference between music and sound in general is music follows a rhythm. Like, what I'm saying is, see this?:

This is not music; this is a bunch of discordant sounds. Now, this?:

This is music. It follows a smooth rhythm: a pattern if you will. I don't think it has a beat to it, probably because its smooth-flowing classical music and not WAP by Cardi B.

Essentially what I'm asking is a music-based ability that isn't broadway force but still can be used as a means of control. There are two examples for this ability that I can think of.

Ella (Total Drama): She uses her song ability in a more targeted manner than what Broadway Force would do. This was made more apparent when you notice that she tamed robots, bears, and pigs with her song and when she sang in order to summon birds to her beck and call.

Scornet Maestro (Pikmin): This creature from Pikmin plays its harplike mouth in order to command its workers (the Scornets) to attack, usually in patterns given the pattern. While this is more broad than Ella's singing ability, it is specific in a way that its song only affects Scornets.

What do you peeps think?

Fission would fit under duplication, and the music powers seem more like mind/empathic/animal manipulation.
I think the thread linked would further specify what I meant. Like, the goddess isn't necessarily cloning herself as would be the case with duplication itself. Pretty much what I meant to say is, well, let me put it this way.

1. Logons (tree creatures) came from resurrected logs.
2. Logons have no vital organs, so bits of the goddess' life force/will is used to keep them alive, hence the "splitting her life force" part.
3. The Logons, despite having the goddess' life force/will in them, still act independently from her.

I do not think that this seems relevant or necessary. Sorry.

I can see the usage of Fission actually, there are a lot of cases of characters splitting up into separate things with less abilities, which isn't fully covered by Duplication at all. It addresses that the copies might be weaker, but it does not acknowledge the possibility of them being different in physiology from the original.

He does I believe, but he's far from the only one. Just think about any slime monster from a videogame, odds are it's able to split up, and its parts will be autonomous, or maybe the core stays but it summons weaker, smaller ones out of its mass.

Although, I see Fission Inducement (as opposite of Fusionism) to be a thing, Music Manipulation is just a variation of Sound Manipulation (thus, already covered by it); if music induces variable effects, then just writes its applications.

Not necessarily Inducement, doesn't that imply doing it to others

Yeah, I was referring more to an alternative power, with a more broad definition.

What you suggests is kind of specific, generally akin to Avatar Creation, although instead of an avatar per se, it's what is known as aspect.

Avatar Creation kinda suggests some magic at play and some intrinsec tie betwen the creator and the created, but here it can be as simple as a big blob losing some of its mass to make a small blob, or a dragon with four heads splitting into four smalled dragons.

Ah, welp, in that case that is just a limited (relatively to the standard one) Duplication. I though it referred to splitting aspects from oneself and/or others (kind like defusion, or separating "personalities" and such).

I think it would also cover that- if anything it's a lot less limited than Duplication, which only covers one specific kind of division ability

I... Actually see both ArmorChompy's and Antoniofer's reasonings on whether to support or oppose Fission. Like, to sum the discussion up, this was what I got.

Reasons to Support Fission:

1. Fission Inducement, as suggested by Antoniofer, is a good antonym/counterpart to Fusionism. Alternatively, it can be called Fissionism.
2. Armorchompy had a good way to set fusion apart from other abilities; including duplication

Reasons to Oppose Fission:

1. It can feel like Avatar Creation or Duplication

Here are my two cents.

What if it's just the will or the life force of the user that's being split apart? And what if, rather than create a new body (as in Avatar Creation), said divisions are put into already-existing objects to bring them to life (ex. the Logons/tree creatures)?

(Not gonna bring up the music thing because I considered withdrawing that from consideration)

That also sounds like Fissionism or whatever we call it to me, again it's a pretty versatile ability when you think about it. BOTW Ganon creating the Blights, DMCV Vergil doing whatever the **** he did, though the one you've described might also fall under Empowerment of some sort, IDRK what you're talking about.

And yeah music just sounds like a specific kind of Sound Manipulation

Well, either way, I think Fissionism's case is strengthened enough to warrant an ability page. Anyone else?

I do not think that it seems common enough to warrant an entire page about it. It may be better to simply mention it briefly in powers and abilities sections when necessary.

Maybe we could make it a section of Duplication? Because right now we're completely failing to address that specific kind of power.

Maybe. What do the other staff members here think?
