Dexters jiujtsiu is okay he mainly just throws which is a part of jiujitsu but his actual jiujitsu beside throwing is pretty lackluster he kinda messes up basic mechanics imo he’s around a blue belt level which makes sense cause most people leave after gaining it
I mean im no fighting expert but to me, he is definitely more than "okay" fighting wise. I can understand your point since the choreography isn't the best point about this show (which becomes good in OS and Resurrection), but he has outskilled people capable of holdings their own against multiple police officers at once and was easily able to take two people at once as well as characters with military backgrounds. And its also pretty much implied that Jiu-Jitsu isn't his only martial art he took classes in from what Doakes says
and it’s not even mentioned in og sin that he took classes
Doakes' statement goes also for OS since he did martial arts in college, which in the prequel takes after that period of Dex's life
He mainly uses beginner moves like rear naked choke
True but I don't see why that makes him less impressive, especially since he uses these on untrained/offguarded people

I was only referring to his jiujitsu being okay his other skills like striking kicking etc are great it’s just he doesn’t have great jiujitsu besides that his combat is very good he probably took mma as he uses alot of Muay Thai and boxing

i js kinda wonder tho. what makes blitzing off-guard dexter superhuman ? like ye ik they downscales from how fast dex rlly is but thats the part that doesnt make sense. like if there is anyone stealthy attacking him from behind, thatd still be off-guard except i think thats superhuman cuz off guard dex wouldnt rlly be able to perceive the attack let alone reacting to it so ofc the attack would obvsly land on him
