Transcending the concept of death?

Was looking at some FF stuff and one of the descriptions of the Phoenix Summon state that it's a creature that has transcended the concept of death. I guess that could mean Type 5 immortality? But anything else?

It depends on the context.

Though, I have to wonder, does it say that because Phoenix constantly ressurects, so it never actually "dies," or does it actually just transcend the concept of death?

Hmmm... now that you mention it may be more likely because it resurrects, since that's the entire shtick of the Phoenix in general.

This sacred bird of legend has completely transcended the concept of death, resurrecting itself when fallen and even birthing new life from the flames surrounding it.

Oof, yeah, that sounds like it's just about Phoenix's ressurection.

That's a bummer, Type 5 Immortality for Phoenix (and maybe Type 5 Immortality Negation for some of the other characters) would've been dope as hell.

I think it would have just remained for Phoenix. While it's not rare to defeat Summons, you very rarely actually kill them since they are very rarely protrayed as villanous through the series. All I can think are the few cases where a villiain has done it, like the Gestahlt empire draining them dry of Magic in VI.

Ah, fair enough.

Still, I guess it doesn't matter too much since Phoenix doesn't get it anyway.
