Toph Beifong vs Azula

@Seventy96

Which version of Azula exactly, Kemurikage?

If yeah(also comic version for Toph):

R1: Azula wins after a good fight, due to being faster, having the ability to fly into the air(avoiding earth traps), much better physicals(even owned Ty Lee + Suki together in S and S, without bending) and the ability to simply blast earth shields + attacks away(as she several times did).

R2: Unfair, Azula curbstomps. Except you use the actual(insane)comet version, then should it be a fight(Toph still loses).

@Gunchar Azula from Book Three. I do not read Avatar comics.
Ok then:

R1: Azula still wins, cause she has still the same advantages, just some to a lesser degree(faster, physicals, AOE and she's not as good with lightning). But it's clearly closer, and a pretty good fight now.

R2: Sane version, still curbstomps. Actual insane version, nothing changed.

Azula does have better physicals, but Toph is still pretty agile when needed, and can launch herself across great distances or move with earthwaves. Azula usually only uses flight to project herself over distances (the exception is Sozin's Comet), not simply float so it is of limited use against earth traps. While Toph did not fight azula in a duel, she did at least block her before, and since one trap is enough for her to win, all she needs is to block Azula long enough for an opportunity. Azula's physicals, the main way she avoids being hit, were not enough to outrun the protagonists in the day of the black sun, or to avoid tophs traps, once stopping her from attacking with a hidden throwing knife. Since toph could respond to her movement before it was finished, there is no reason it couldn't happen with firebending moves. Even at close combat, where Azula has the advantage, Toph could use her earth armor to gain both enough protection and further physical streangh, which should be enough, as we have seen in Azula's fight against Aang in The Drill. On top of that, toph could avoid sight through a dust cloud, since she is alone here. So Toph chould win at least R1.

R2 might go to Azula since she can float more easily and since i do not think Toph ever took quite that much fire, but she came close. not only did she defeat (lesser, admittingly) comet powered firebenders, but she protected the team against bombs in the invasion. Since Toph survives the heat in a metal armor, there is no reason she will not in a more insulated rock armor, providing it can take the hit- and Azula's blasts were stopped by columbs, so there is no reason to assume otherwise.

sorry. saw that the last one was a "bump", so iresponded. how long ago does a necro count? it is probobally written in a place i should have read, but i do not know and would not like to make the mistake again.

R1: Azula casually blasted countless earth/rock/stone shields away(even the biggest one Toph ever created with lightning), casually avoided Toph's earth trap, was actually outrunning absolutely everyone at the day of the black sun(she even waited for them to keep up, cause her whole strategy was to bait them and waste their time with her) and also already outspeeded Toph's seismic sense with firebending(Azula was literally standing still as Toph trapped her). That just to the first part.

In close combat would Azula utterly destroy Toph, Toph could never create such an armor fast enough and Azula already blasted Aang together with his armor away. Also can Azula amp her striking much faster with firebending and literally blast holes into any earth/stone armor Toph could create by any logical means, hell she turned a usual volleyball basically into a bomb that nuked the opposing volleybal team with a simple kick. In the fight on the drill blasted Azula Aang's stone shield away and KOed him, later on got he saved by the destruction of the drill so that one short push he could give her(with the stone arm) is rly nothing to brag about. A dust cloud wouldn't help the slightest bit, cause Azula would just shoot an explosive blast into the cloud or jumping into the air(like she did in Crossroads, after she turned Katara's big wave into a dust cloud). I see absolutely no logical reason why Thoph should win round 1?

R2: Sry but that round is still an outright curbstomp. Azula can fly, surf and jump while unleashing simultainiously a gigantic inferno on Toph, that's a bit more than just floating more easily. Toph came never close at all, the lesser benders shot tiny blasts(not even as big as the tight room where that fight happened) at her metal armor and she created cover for the bombs(but never directly blocked the explosions). Azula without comet casually blasted rock shields away and even huge walls with lightning, comet amped Azula would destroy them with a little fire finger flick. I actually rly like Toph, but Azula is plain and simple a superior fighter and Toph's only chance in round 2 would be that Azula laughs herself to death.

Sry for the second necro, but that were just to many missinformations at once to keep quiet.
