Iirc it was changing keys, I think if the transformation was part of the same key it was allowed but if the transformation moved them to a different key then it would be disqualified.

Why would it be restricted because of that? As long as the transformation is something the character can access normally it shouldn't be restricted just because the base and the tranformation have their own keys.
