Tier 9-A Partners in Crime Tournament; Round 2 Match 3: Sub-Zero & Scorpion VS Pyro & Engineer (0-0-0)

reduced by the same amount
This might mean that the ninja duo's likely massively hypersonic+ combat and reaction speed will just get knocked down to Subsonic+ instead of being fully equalized to athletic human speed on all accounts, which means they only have to worry about the high combat speed from the tf2 duo's side.

I've been told that the combat speed will be fully equalised and the other speed will be reduced by the same multiplier, meaning it'll be a ratio of sorts.

Both Sub-Zero and Scorpion have the same speed of 4292.48953 m/s or Mach 12 (Hypersonic+) and even if we use the likely MHS+ combat speed, the equalization focuses on the combat speed. One big problem now is that the TF2 duo doesn't have anything that is similar to combat speed at all.

We've gotten half of the puzzle now at least.

That's what I've been thinking; that Combat Speed is the only thing that gets equalized.

Reactions are only one moment.

Reaction speed is defined as a single movement in a defined timeframe, which a character has been shown capable of. A series of movements in similar timeframes makes this combat speed, so this term should only be applied for a single, quick movement. Examples include ducking backwards to dodge bullets and diving away to dodge extremely fast vehicles. When measured in terms of a single movement of often undefined, small distance, humans have displayed between 300 milliseconds (below average human) to 100 milliseconds (peak human) reactions. Autonomous body reactions for humans can also reach as high as 40 milliseconds, but this is oftentimes inapplicable to reaction speed and shouldn't be used.

Theoretically, Sub-Zero and Scorpion would be able to use a single moment to dodge anything, but any further movements are their Combat Speed.

Oh, I thought we were going to equalize to Athletic Human
Athletic Human movement (As a trained mercenary, the Pyro should be able to keep up with other athletically fit combatants, such as the Soldier and Heavy)
Because the wording suggests that this is their combat speed ("Keep up with")

We can probably equalise with movement speed and get this tourney back on again, but I've asked this question in the Q&A forum that you've replied to, and we can probably wait for any answers if they come our way.

Would y'all like to debate assuming they equalise to movement speed for the moment? Or just leave it be for a while?

I've been told to just scale the ninja duo's combat speed to the tf2 duo's movement speed. And so that's how it's going to go. Sub-Zero and Scorpion do have to go against a one-time subsonic/+ reaction speed and supersonic attack speed, but that's how it is.

WE CAN FINALLY CONTINUE.

Ngl life stuff is beating me up a bit right now and I don't have as much time to debate as I'd like. I don't wanna waste peeps time by taking a lot of time per reply so unless someone wants to take over arguing for Pyro and Engi for me, I think Sub and Scorp should go on.

RIP the idea of TF2 vs TF2 match. (I wonder who was to be Red & who was to be Blue.)

depending on the location and if there's a line of sight
The tourney rules already have them out of sight and away from each other in the first place, so yeah there would have been a debate.

Would Gatememer come and argue for the mercs? He's been missing ever since he asked for the specifications of the chosen location.
