i keep seeing posts and discussions that say that the world and THE WORLD have the same stats...but its not shown in the manga....or in any other reliable source ive found. so where does this statement come from?

Araki in his stands guide put both the Old Universe and New Universe stands, meaning that they have to be comparable to each other and aren't completely separate and uncomparable entities. Plus is heavily implied from the fact that Dio IS Diego, but just the alternate universe counterpart, so the Stand of noth must have the same characteristics because common sense.
