The terms "World" and "Universe"

Something reminded me to post this. Do we treat both words as the same in fiction, unless specific evidence goes against it? I hear we treat world as "planet sized" but most others Ive discussed with treat World as the same as "universe-sized". Which one would it be?

Alright, so what if a verse constantly refers to a reality or space they go into as either as they interchange between both terms? Does that mean they treat "World" and "Universe" as the same thing and thus the space/reality is universe sized?

Well, the size has to be established or at least implied to be universal, as 'world' and 'universe' can refer to smaller pocket universes. but yes, we can treat the terms as meaning the same thing in that context.

Okay so if a reality is called a universe on multiple occasions does that mean universe sized? Or do you mean something else?
