The Revenant Marvel Comics Discussion Thread

Just a note that I just read the latest Hulk annual, in which the Hulk and Thanos were evenly matched powervise.

I'm planning to make a Phalanx page.

It's confirmed the Phalanx will eventually become a Titan and later a Dominion.

Typically, we don't give characters keys for future selves that exist beyond current storylines. However, Dominions (and to a lesser extent, Titans) are omnitemporal within Overspace and actually bring about their own creation, meaning the Phalanx Dominion already exists and has existed.

So, would it be ok to include a Dominion key on their profile?

What tier are they?

Question, aren't the phalanx described as being very similar in nature to Gods?

They're indistinguishable from Gods due to their raw power.

I read that it's from them scaring the Beyonders but I can't find a scan for that.
It's from Defenders: Beyond and Resurrection of Magneto.

Also, it's implied an enormous mass of Dominions would at least be capable of harming The Phoenix Force.
Is there anything worship based for the phalanx? I remember them having something like that but I forget.
Not that I can remember.

Plus, they're totally cut off from linearity by choice, so worship-based power would probably be a liability.

Holy **** if the phalanx are like that

What weapons do we even have that can hold them off?
The Phalanx aren't like that in the current timeline. But they are a Type III civilization on the Kardashev Scale, easily one of the stronger cultures in Marvel (far above the Badoon, Kree and Shi'ar), and even one of their constructs (Magus) tore a star in two.

As for Dominions, they're practically omnipotent even on an Abstract scale, but they also refuse to restrain themselves to space-time in any capacity.

That doesn't seem so impressive I remember during the Kree Skrull war with the cotati they having a weapon that would destroy the sun, and Carol Danvers was given the knowledge for a solar system weapon through her "kree awakening"

I assume you're referring to the star feat (which was pretty casual, btw).

It's much more impressive when you look into what a Magus actually is.

The Phalanx created Technarchies to categorise and convert planets, and each Technarchy doesn't know the other exists and thinks its unique in the universe. A Magus is the ruler of a Technarchy, and all of its children must eventually kill and replace it.

The actual Phalanx civilization is orders of magnitude more powerful and advanced than these Technarchies. In fact, Technarchies are planetary or instellar domains, whereas the Phalanx control an entire galaxy.

A Magus is, by no means, a superweapon to the Phalanx. He's their equivalent to a forgotten arm-chair general in an unrecognised military.

Plus, the Phalanx have canonically stomped both the Kree and Shi'ar, albeit through hax and deception.

Still doesn't look that impressive the Kree also have their own galaxy so does shi'ar, and I haven't even started mentioning Cosmi-rod or Nega-bands. Also I think I read somewhere that the kree created a cosmic cube, this part I don't remember well.

The true Phalanx unified A.I literally exists in a higher dimension, and across multiple dimensions. They once shifted the entire Large Magellanic Cloud (trapping the whole Post-Annihilation Kree Empire) out of sync with space-time and sealed it with an impenetrable energy barrier, which is something the characters said even Galactus can't do, just by constructing a single babel spire.

And that's really just scratching the surface.

Creating a cosmic cube isn't actually that hard. A.I.M did it. Basically, they make/find a pinhole to The Beyond, and contain whatever special element is unleashed.

I have a question for scarlet witch current this mean her for new key and H1-A This is only a question. I haven't make a CRT yet

(1)As the living darkhold, Scarlet witch was powerful enough to channing Chthon,(2) who stated to be chaos/deadly freedom that defying the Griever's grand designs, (3)and took his power for herself.

She became the true darkhold ,(4)the unending chaos (5)that is opposite to what will be .(6) She holds every life that isn't , wasn't or ever couldn't be. (7)The true darkhold stated to be what if, the space between what is and what will be. What if is possibility , it's everything .

(8)Scarlet witch is freedom and with possibility as her parton, she became the Ultimate Nexus , a being that can influence all possibilities and(8) realities ,(9)unbeholded to the design.Threaten to the set path by existing .She was able to handle the (10)Edge of reality and (11)overpowered the Griever.

That's more impressive. But I would still not call it "far above"

Explaining it in a simple way doesn't make it easy to do.

But they literally are stated to be far above them, especially when it comes to technological development. It's just blatant facts.

Plus, like I said, they've nearly destroyed the Shi'ar and Kree outright through subterfuge and technological superiority. The only thing that stopped that from happening was Earth and galactic heroes.

It being relatively difficult doesn't mean most advanced civilizations in Marvel can't also do it. Everyone and their mum has made a cosmic cube at some point, including S.H.I.E.L.D and the Skrulls.

I don't take those statements for real I have read about Kree and the amount of times they say other races are inferior is... well I can't say it in numbers.

Pretty sure the Kree were weakened at the time and it was a Kree who defeated the Phalanx that time too.

I never said that, I'm well aware the Kree are nowhere near "most advanced civilizations" I was saying the Phalanx don't seem that impressive in relation to the Kree

If you don't want to take those statements as fact, then take the Phalanx being a completely different order of civilization as fact.

Hell, take the rest of the known universe's other powers being scared of the Phalanx or the Phalanx upgrading the Kree's technology via assimilation as fact.

I'm not saying they're as far above the Kree as Dormammu is above Longneck or anything, but it's a decently wide gap.

The Kree were diminished on a galactic scale, not actually weakened (their fleets and armies still retained the same level of individual strength). They Phalanx easily took down the entire Empire without even utilising a tiny fraction of their main forces, proving they're a lot more advanced.

Their actual main forces nearly beat the Shi'ar prior to Captain Marvel Volume 5 and around the time of Maximum Security/Galactus The Devourer, aka when the Shi'ar Empire included both the Kree and Skrull Empires and could've handily beat either of them.
it was a Kree who defeated the Phalanx that time too.
It was a Kree and Adam Warlock who defeated Ultron, their commander at the time, and some drones to mess with their control systems. And it only succeeded because they had help from the Skrulls, Technarchy and various heroes.

They and all the other galactic/intergalactic powers couldn't have even gotten through the barrier if it weren't for Warlock's (different character from Adam Warlock) Technarchy technology and the barrier already being weakened.

Kree can still archieve type 3 even more considering Carol Danvers who is supposed to be the potencial of each Kree. Overall Kree have feats capable of reaching tier 3.

Lastly, the Shi'ar are demonstrably on par with the Kree, so the Phalanx still wins via scaling.
I'm not gonna turn this into a war we both know comics are inconsistent and they will forget things depending on the writer, even some earth scientists made advancements on a universal scale and they are supposed to be under all those.
But nowadays Kree and Skrull act as one under the emperor

That was because he had received spells and amps by scarlet witch, and the griever had already been seriously injured before that
Nope, he wasn't. No spell was casted on him.

If referring to QS save in no surrender, the that was just his mental block being removed by both Wanda and Synapse.
can you give me the part that shows quicksilver being powered up by wanda? i must have missed it
Excatly. Just read that Issue Twice looking for Wanda amping Pietro and found non.

I'm sorry I misunderstood, but the griever was already seriously injured by the scarlet witch spell and she just tricked the griever into paying attention to her, and Quicksilver ran over to attack, but normally if the griever wasn't injured, he wouldn't have. A chance to do anything to the griever. He was only able to harm the griever because the griever was weakened by Wanda spell Parasite inside the griever

If Phalanx are going to be getting a profile, I feel like the other major civilizations (Kree, Skrull, Shi'ar, Annihilation Wave, Builders, etc.) should probably get profiles of there own. Honestly, SHIELD and SWORD should probably get faction profiles too at some point.

Does this mean anything for Phalanx Ultron, because he mind controls all of them at some point iirc.

They have that technology, but it's not representative of their civilization as a whole (though the Shi'ar are definitely Type III, for some reason). The Phalanx literally eat civilizations to achieve dominance on all planes of reality.

The combined Kree and Skrull are a bit stronger than the Shi'ar (who've kind of fallen from their prime, but not drastically) in the current setting.

If it's a war, the Phalanx win objectively. Take it from someone whose favourite species/Empire in Marvel is the Shi'ar.

I'm planning ones for the Builders, Annihilation Wave, Shi'ar, Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, and a few others (I'm definitely thinking of doing one for the Kree and Skrulls, but kind of mulling it over due to how many appearances they have).

Here's the sandbox.

Keep in mind, my Shi'ar plans are heavily outdated due to information I found in a novel.

It means he has access to a lot of their best technologies. He didn't access the full Phalanx civilization, though.

Still a feat tho. The first four issues and previous issues of Quicksilver's appearances just made it clear that Quicksilver is almost like Wanda in terms of existence

Speaking of the Skrull and Kree, the best Kree ships can create explosions comparable to small supernovae during ship-to-ship battles, while Skrulls can lob solar system-destroying bombs into stars.

If anyone wants to help, I'd be more than happy to make civilization profiles for them.
