ALTERNATE TITLE: FURNITURE STORE HEIST
Well, I might as well use up the available characters in the saga. Not sure if they'll be used often so here's some of their moments to shine. Who knows, maybe we'll get development from this.
● ------------------------------------- ●
One by one, the assailants awoke after their vision turned to black. Despite their preparations, the ghostface killers overcame them with better weaponry and strength. Some came back more shook than the others, having been killed in a more gruesome manner than their partners. Still, there was no time to ponder. They were now in unfamiliar territory and if they were still sane, they'd recognize the voice of their last contractor.
The room they were in was relatively empty, save for a door and a cardboard cutout that almost hit Fox Mask. Going through the door revealed a concerning sight. A vast furniture store laid before them, its end practically impossible to see with the naked eye. On the bright side, it was well lit and the trio had no problem navigating it. After a few minutes of silence, they eventually encountered another living being which they approached with caution. Standing by a bed which had cratered the pristine floor was a disheveled woman wearing a black trenchcoat and gloves. Tied to her back was a shovel and she could be seen shoving limbs and organs of unidentified creatures into her sack.
"I think that's it. I sure hope Mr. Krat knows what he's doing. Then again, never saw him pay me an extra coin for my work, let alone an extra ten. I'm sure we'll be fine~" Qarg said before wiping the sweat off her brow. She suddenly stopped upon hearing something, prompting her to step aside to dodge a crossbow bolt fired at her. Just then she felt herself being caught, a sharp object pointed at her neck.
"Where are we?! What is this place?!" Tiger Mask asked, holding Qarg in a headlock with a piece of sharp wood aimed at her neck.
"Oh, fellow newcomers. While I can't speak for myself as I do think this place is better than where I came from, assuming you didn't come from an apocalyptic wasteland..." she explained, completely unconcerned by being held hostage.
"This place is hell." Being far more shaken than the others, Tiger Mask's breathing grew more rapid, his grasp tightening with a subtle shaking to it. Seeing his brother in distress, Lamb Mask decided to take over in questioning their captive.
"How did we even get here? And how do we leave?" he asked, earning a sigh from Qarg.
"There's a lotta ways you can end up here. You're also a mercenary?" she asked back, earning a nod from Lamb Mask.
"Same. If I'm gonna bet, your benefactor probably got you roped in with a deal. Or who knows, maybe he is your benefactor. Did you even see their face?" It was then that the assailants realized what may have happened. It seemed impossible but... what other explanation was there?
"Well, I don't know everything. I'm just here to get paid. What I do know is that there's no escape, even through death. So try to make yourself comfortable, like with that thing flying towards us," Qarg finished, much to her captors' confusion. Looking up revealed a large object flying towards them which they soon identified.
"IS THAT A SOFA?!" Tiger Mask asked before suddenly being elbowed in the gut, his shaking grip immediately loosened as Qarg rolled away. In his dazed state, the sofa landed just by him, knocking him back. Lamb Mask rushed to his side as the gravedigger retreated to the shadows, giving a mocking salute as she did. The sound of footsteps distracted them from their captive, likely the people who did this. Left with no other choice, the assailants were forced to fight off these beings.
