The God of High School Discussion Thread 4: Post-Anime Apocalypse

Hol' up, let me send a link.

It's canon, dude. I am pretty sure there is a statement somewhere laying around one of my tabbers.
It would be great if you could find the statement.
I think I remember one statement about that but I also remember it being from someone who claims Honkai is canon due to GoH making an ad for them, so like, I won't really be convinced until I see it 💀

Call the CEO of Mori! 🗣️

Where is Yeolban? She knows everything about this kind of stuff.

According to Yongje's blog post, it's not him who wrote the novel, but his friend Sin Yeongjae (crazy similar name, I know).

He says he's entrusting the novels to his friend due to how close they are and how he knows Yongje's tastes better than anyone else. Yongje calls it a "side story", and mentions that he was directly involved in writing the settings (lore, worldbuilding, the kinda stuff), but the entirety of the plot was left to his friend.

I think this should be enough to say that the novel is canon.

Yeah it should be usable.
That being said, could you provide more context to this? The stuff you sent isn't really enough to draw a concrete conclusion. Plus we might need some evidence the character who's talking about the Borrowed Power stuff is a reliable source since they don't seem to take him too seriously

I will give you the information after I finish eating.

DLYMSA told me that he needed time to collect contacts and translate feat from Korean to English.

When he's done, I'll give you the answer.

And another thing is that the feats from the novel should be able to help upgrade GoH verse.

because some characters can create two-dimensional parallel worlds that have no concept of 'end' or 'boundary'.

keep in mind that this is a Korean to English translation by google.

So this is a Korean scan.

here are my own translations made based on m2u12's images:

  • "You know who I am?"
  • "An Origin Awakened."
  • "... Haven't heard of it."
  • "You may think of yourself as a Power Borrower, but you're slightly mistaken. It's a concept even higher than that. Borrowed Power is ultimately desire, the manifestation of a wish. Your ability is more aligned to an 'Origin Awakened' rather than a 'Power Borrower'. Of course, it is still far from reaching the final stage, 'Omnipotent'. That stage is still a legend, however."
  • "Stop pretending to know. Desire, you say? How can someone like you possibly know anything about me?"
  • "As proof of that..."

After a brief pause, Abel took a moment to assess Hiro.

- "That man--"
[end of the first image]
- "I also mentioned it to you. The three stages of Borrowed Power. The higher concepts of 'Origin Awakened' and 'Omnipotent'."

Yamato curled her lips into a smirk, sneering.

  • "It was probably just you bastard's own theory that you alone understand. It was so far-fetched that even Mandeok would scoff at it!"
  • "Of course, I only knew about the 'Origin Awakened' through literature. However, that stage definitely exists."
  • "So, are you bastard still going around stirring up the whole world? Are you still trying to find a way to reach the so-called ridiculous 'Omnipotent' stage?"

Abel did not answer, but smiled quietly instead.

Yamato let out a loud shout.
[end of the second image]

"Ban Sihyeon Original: Open World"

"A vast world unfolded."

"Not an exposition and not a stadium either, just that. A vast plain covered with lush green grass and vibrant wildflowers, under an intensely blue sky with clouds drifting by."

"If a 'dungeon' is a castle, then the 'Open World' is a completely different world. In other words, it is a parallel world created by Ban Sihyeon, accessible only to Ban Sihyeon and the guests he gave permission to."

"In this beautiful meadow, where the concepts of 'end' and 'boundary' do not exist, the only living beings are Ban Sihyeon, Shin Yoonseong, Wilhelm and the Queen (She-King)."

"To elaborate, if Shin Yoonseong, a meteor sorcerer, were to summon one while not being invited, that meteor would only wreak havoc in the real world outside, thus making this place a perfectly safe sanctuary."

"However, in the current situation, it's the opposite."

"The sorcerer Shin Yoonseong was invited into Ban Sihyeon's alternate world along with his sorcery. As evidence--"

It might take some time because DLYMSA has to compose the content by himself.

And he told me that he had a little problem.

The following are his comments, which I have translated from his native language into English.

"But I have a little problem. In the wiki goh, it says that the novel has 140 chapter. But I only found 81 chapter that I can read. From what I've found, Aibel's main feat and statements are all in the later chapter which I can't find (he's one of the last bosses)."

But I only found 81 chapter that I can read.
Yes, it's weird. I also only found 81. Thinking it might be a similar situation with GOH and some chapters would be restricted behind a paywall, I installed their SERIES app, but the novel wasn't on the app at all.

Another case of GOH being heavily mistreated and underrated.

I'm sorry to keep you waiting. This is his response, which I translated from his native language into English.

Abel (the one who said the statement) was someone who used to be in the Nox organization before being branded a traitor, after leaving the Nox organization, Abel traveled the world with the goal of saving the world while researching BP.

One of the reasons Abel is reliable source is that he's the one responsible for finding "The Key", which we already know what it is.

The Key is not something that most people would know about, considering it is something used to unlock human taboos. Abel being tasked with finding them pretty much confirms his knowledge.

"Why does Abel seem to know so much about Borrowed Power?"

Because Abel's BP is Prayer Realisation, which has the ability to grant BP and allow those with strong wishes and prayers to become BP users. He gave 'Soul Eater' to Ryo.

That made Abel realize why the power Sakura Yui used wasn't Borrowed Power and said that she wasn't a Borrowed Power user but called her an Origin Awakener because Abel understood the origin of BP.

A reference to when Abel mentioned that Sakura's power might cause a disastrous if she is put under too much pressure, implying that he knows what Sakura's power is and what it can do. Later, it turns out that Abel was right because Sakura's power went berserk, to the point where it could potentially destroy the world.

I just love how Mori is able to do anything in the series that he puts his mind into, but chooses not to. Like that mf was using the executives' techniques against them to finish them off. And to salt to the wound, he was using them as training dummies.

What are these statements talking about exactly?

When does this happen? To make sure this isn't conflicting actual canon -> Ungnyeo being the first one (chronologically) to know about The Key -> when she told Mujin about the existence of "The Key" 17 years prior to the start of the story. Unless you mean he's the one who found Sujin?

DLYMSA told me that he would take a break, re-organize the information and re-read the novel first, and he would give an answer later.

It seems like the rest chapter will be in here.

Or have you also searched here but couldn't find it too?
