I don't think so, only two pages of this thread were actual discussion. The rest was just derailment. No one on staff is going to read 8 pages of thread.

When topics of this nature get past 5 pages, of arguments, new threads get made everytime. Its a common aspect on this wiki.

Staff are more likely to engage with a clean thread that focuses on the main arguments.

The only pages you need to read is the previous page really. Don't really need to reply further, it has all they need to know. A new thread is virtually pointless now.

Ant, since we’ve posted the summaries, this thread had increased in several pages, and one staff memeber has commented that it was difficult to read.

I think it would be worthwhile to allow this thread to be closed, and a new one to made with the summaries. Since this is standard practice for long threads, I don’t see the problem.
