Darkseid is 1.6x stronger than Thanos in AP so it's practically useless. Their skill and intelligence is roughly the same, and their stamina is practically unlimited so it comes down to hax.

Omega Beams: They're just powerful energy blasts for this version of Darkseid. Yes, they can home in and attack but Thanos has energy shields plus teleportation to deal with that. Plus, he can just tank damage. Shoot, Thanos could just release a blast of energy in all directions to counter.
Life Force Absorbtion: Ok, this doesn't seem like Darkseid's go-to move. When he used it, it was because he was trying to restore his powers and return his adult self. So, he doesn't have that motivation here. Plus Thanos can counter it as he can absorb Life Force and even transfer it to others. So, even if Darkseid tried draining him, Thanos could just drain it back, effectively making that a stalemate.
On the other hand Darkseid doesn't resist any of Thanos' hax. Thanos still has Petrification, Sealing, Madness Manip, Matter Manip, Perception Manip, and Mind Control.
Really, Darkseid doesn't bring that much here.

sealing i have to disagree with. Darkseid has been sealed before and he was still capable of creating avatars outside of his prison in the Source Wall.

The arguments for Darkseid boil down to the Omega Beams and Life Force Absorbtion, which I've addressed. The other argument was that Darkseid was stronger, which isn't true either. Shoot, no argument for Darkseid actually even addresses Thanos' options and Darkseid's lack of counters/resistance for them.
This is essentially people just saying Darkseid wins because of two powers and not actually looking at the full picture.

If life force absorption is useless and he doesn't have EE then Thanos wins, if he doesn't outright stomp. Post-Crisis Darkseid would be more fair I think since he actually has ways to win.

It would be a case of Thanos having some hax that works on Darkseid while Darkseid has numerous hax that would work on Thanos, with EE being Darkseid's opening move.
