Terraria Early-Mid Bosses Upgrades

I have to unsubscribe from this thread due to time constraints. You can notify me later via my message wall if you need my help after you have reached a conclusion.

The proposed Tier 7 seems reasonable.

(7-C, likely Low 7-B, that is)

I'm going to work soon so I'll try turning the fog feat into a blog either before or after work.

I just redid my calc for the blog. This time I reread the calc and fixed some of the mistakes I made, it is also a lot less of a rough calc. The new results are 2 kilotons instead of 7.

I just finished the blog. I'm going to try and get footage of Duke coving the whole map, but I won't be surpised if my computer crashes five times in the process.

Bump; sorry for not commenting in such a long time. I needed to finish up an essay.

Have the staff reached some sort of agreement here?

The 8-B has been evaluated and accepted. But the 7-C possibly 7-B feat hasn't yet.

I'm about to start writing an other essay right now so I won't be able to do this tonight, but should the 8-B feat be applied for now then we continue to talk about the 7-C/7-B feat or should we wait until that feat is fully discussed?

Applying it is probably fine, yes.

Sorry for being gone so long. I had to finish two essays for school. I'm nervous about editing the profiles because I have never been good with the categories.

Also something else I've been thinking of came up and it would effect how the pages are edited. Pretty much the beginning game Terrarian doesn't scale to the king slime, but I've been replaying Terraria and there is zero reason as to why he shouldn't scale. The Terrarian at the very start of the game can survive hits from the king slime and damage it. If you try to get better equipment or become more durable with life crystals it causes the Eye of Cthulhu to spawn (the boss after King Slime). The Terrarian can also mine the materials he uses to fight the EoC while he can't even scratch the materials he uses to fight the Eater of Worlds, which points to him being strong enough to harm the EoC beginning game. Finally the Guide scales to the King Slime and he uses a basic wooden bow the Terrarian can get 5 seconds into the game.

There isn't any reason it should be a gameplay mechanic because the Terrarian can't get better equipment than his beginning game key before the EoC spawns. Multiple items you can get seconds into the game, like grenades, kill the King Slime faster than all the Terrarian's other weapons and he can survive these. The Guide scales to the King Slime and both the him and the Terrarian use the very same weapon. Many of the monsters in Terraria slaughter the guide and he considers going out side a terrible idea, meanwhile the Terrarian can easily kill hundreds of the monsters that can hurt and kill the npcs like the guide. Plus the Terrarian can mine material that can survive hits from the King Slime and EoC, while the game has materials, like corruption, be unbreakable to the Terrarian until he gets corruption based items from another source (the EoC). If you try to become more durable the EoC spawns so the Terrarian can't get more health at the beginning of the game without spawning a boss stronger than the King Slime, and thus you have to take hits from the King Slime with the beginning game health.

Okay. That seems to make sense. You can ask The Calaca and Moritzva to comment here again if you wish.

@Keew

actually, the EoC spawns only when you have 200 Health and 10 Defense, so you can get up to 4 life crystals and iron armor without his spawning triggering

If you get iron armor it's very likely you've gotten a shackle off a zombie and that goes past the EoC requirements (Or any equipment with a defense bonus), plus the second requirement is two npcs, you start the game with one and if you do basic stuff like finding bombs or 50 silver (both of which are in practically every chest on the overworld) it also causes the EoC to spawn. It's not the main part of my argument anyways since it just points out that getting anything other than basic stuff you find in two seconds causes a boss to spawn. The main argument is that the guide scales the the king slime and he wields a weapon you get literally within 10 seconds or the game. You can survive the grenades which can easily hurt the king slime, and kill monsters that the guide is scared of. Pretty much you can kill the King Slime night one very easily, and the Terrarian can survive hits from it and weapons that harm it.

TBH, i think it would be better to make the Beginning ofGame key have just the starting equipment (Copper shortword and copper pick)

Even with a copper short sword you can hurt the king slime. You probably won't win the fight but you can hurt it. You can easily kill monsters the guide is afraid of and he scales to the King Slime. Also that currently isn't the equipment the 9-B Terrarian is allowed, so that would downgrade the Terrarian's beginning game equipment if we did that (though there is no reason to since he can harm things comparable to the king slime and survive it's attacks, just barely so at worst he would back scale).

Edit: Why even have the key if the Terrarian is only at that key for literally 5 seconds. In Minecraft the Player's type 9 sends him to his beginning game key, that's why he has a 9-A key (and the 9-A key in Minecraft last at least a few minutes, if wood equipment scales to the King Slime the Terrarian would be in his next key within seconds), but the Terrarian never goes back to that key ever so having it would just be pointless if we move all the equipment to his next key and just say he has a copper short sword and nothing else).

@Overlord

Are you willing to help Keeweed with the editing?

BTW, to resume the changes i'll be making

8-B+ for King Slime and Early Game Terrarian

8-A for all Pre-Hardmode bosses [since King Slime is not even considered a boss] and Mid-Game Terrarian

At least 8-A for all-Hardmode Bosses [since they are VASTLY stronger than the pre-hardmode bosses]

Okay. Are there calculations as a basis for this?

Okay. That seems fine then.

Sorry for being gone for a while. Now that I have time I just want to say I believe Overlord agreed with upgrading the 9-B Terrarian when I asked him about it on his wall. Though I feel I should also ask Calaca what he thinks of the Terrarian's 9-B key.

Other than that I'm going to try and get the low 7-B/low 7-C evaluated.

ok, anyway the bosses that scale to Duke i think are: the Martians, the Pumkin Moon Bosses, Golem, Post-Plentera-Mothron and the Frost Moon Bosses [last two don't have profiles tho]

also we need to make a Post-Plantera Key for the Terrarian

I think Plantera may actually scale because it's curses kept the Dungeon in check and you get many end game weapons from the monsters that spawn in the Dungeon. Plantera is when the life fruits spawn and when the Terrarian can mine chlorophyte, which requires a pick that combines the souls of all three mechanical bosses. Finally many of Plantera's items help the Terrarian hurt or survive hits from bosses like the Golem and Duke.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well. So Plantera could be at least 8-A, possibly low 7-B while Duke and the Golem would be at least 7-B, possibly 5-C.

Since the low 7-B feat has been evaluated so should I or someone else now edit the profiles?

I want to do it, but I know you would be much better at doing it, so I think you should do it so I don't mess something up. I've made a successful profile before but I've also failed at making two others.
