I doubt since Gojo mostly uses it as a last resort attack. Also Sun Wukong is scales higher into rel.

Who's to say Gojo get the first hit? Gojo tends to let his opponent to attempt hit first. Once Wukong notice he can't reach Gojo, he would pull out his staff.

For what it's worth, the kanjis 間合い used, doesn't mean distance literally, it refers to combat distance.

I'm pretty sure by site standards, characters would be at their strongest by default so Susano should have access to his sword by the fight starts. Also Susano has 3x speed advantage over Satoru.

The strongest key, not the strongest state. We don't assume that the enemy is already using their strongest move since the begin or otherwise we would need to say that the battle starts within Gojo's domain where he gets a 20% stats buff

Domain is an ability he has, here we assume susano has access to his sword since the lack of keys. So both characters would have the capacity to willingly use all of their abilities at the start of the fight.

I have doubts on Gojo dodging Susano's attacks since Susano has a 3x speed advantage at least. Susano has more chances of hitting than missing.
