I think I know what you're talking about and I'll say that that occurence was due to plot not any actual power Supes has.

I'm not sure why Pre-Crisis Superman doesn't have EE. Pre-Crisis Darksied Omega Beams were always EE. The whole inconsistences with the Omega Beams varing from Teleporting people through time (cough cough Batman) didn't happen until late Post-Crisis. Other than that his Omega Beams have always just zap people out of existence.

He was hit a few times, but they either incapacitated him or sent him through time. Prince read through every PC Darkseid comic so he'd know.

EDIT:Asked Prince and he said PC Supes never tanked the Omega Beams like Post-Crisis.

Dang, I'm trying to think back because now that I think about it. I don't think Pre-Crisis Superman has ever fought Pre-Crisis Darkseid.

They fought like 3-4 times, and each time Darkseid completely stomped him.

To be fair, a weakened Darkseid also stomped the Time Trapper (Controller), Mordru, and most of the Legion, all of which are high tier 2-C characters. So it's not like it's a low showing.
