IF this logic is used, then why there so many verses have layers when its just overpowering other via being more powerful? When I was in the Mori vs Sukuna thread, I saw Mori having 2 layers of fear manip and the reasonings comes down to "Being stronger than the other, allows you to bring fear to the weak". I feel like JJK is being picked on because of popularity while other verses is just given the go ahead

I dont understand how increase output makes it not resistance?

Simple Domain and Domain Amplification are pretty much "potency-based" power null. You don't need to resist the effect, you just have to have more power than it can null. SD gets annihilated against actual domains after a few moments (or minutes with binding vows) due to refinement + potency being superior. DA also crumbles if the potency is great enough, as we see Hanami's not being strong enough to deal with the increased output of Infinity, and Sukuna's DA being able to bypass infinity but only partially reduce a weakened Red and Purple due to their output being superior to his DA output

Sometimes things are indexed incorrectly. You can rest assured that overpowering something via being more powerful is not a layer.
