On topic, defensively Krueger has type 8 immortality that requires mind wiping earth to bypass. Offensively he has time loops and soul stealing. SpongeBobs fourth wall breaking won't be effective because he killed Wes craven.

In all honesty though Spongebob could just erase Freddy Krueger with the magic pencil. Freddy cutting Spongebob up will just let him instant regenerate. idk about that soul manipulation though

Freddy either TKs the pencil out of SB's hands or turns the floor underneath SB into something that won't allow him the ability to walk. (Meaning he can't get close enough to erase him)

Freddy can mind-read while in the Dream World (that's explicitly how he figures out his victims' fears), so he'll know not to let Spongebob touch any of that equipment of his.

Also, literally nothing prevents Freddy from transmuting SB's weapons and items into things he's afraid of. Or, alternatively, transmuting SB himself into something completely defenseless and dominating him immediately afterwards.

Pretty much. I haven't been exposed to The Dream Master yet (sadly), but even the simplest time hax would give a guy like Freddy a serious advantage.

But yeah, RIP Bob. I honestly feel bad for him. Poor little guy didn't deserve this fight at all.
