Spider-Man's Minimum Speed

This scan is used to say Spidey is "at least Mach 1.87". Except 5 miles/2 seconds is 4023 m/s, or Mach 11.7. I did this on both google and Wolfram Alpha to be absolutely sure the calculator didn't just misinterpret.

So yeah this is an upgrade but it's not really a debatable one, just a case of misdone math.

Uh, it says '5 seconds & 2 miles,' not 5 miles & 2 seconds. So it would be Mach 1.89, not Mach 11.7. The misdone maths is on your side.

Well, we rated them based on combat speed, so I think that inserting travel speed seems pretty redundant at this point. In addition, Spider-Man travels by web-swinging, not by running.

Also, the original calculation seems to be accurate.

Authors rarely draw the sound barrier being broken unless it's for drama. In addition, such distinctions are usually reserved for speedsters like Superman and The Flash, not for characters known for their guile like Spidey.

According to this Spiderman can move his limbs at Mach 13.7
