Spider-Man General Discussion

Good chunk of it is anyway.

I've gone through all of it a few times, at least up until the 2000s before things start to get suckier than they already were in the (debatably early plus) mid to late 90s.

Going through all the great artists (both Romitas, Ditko, Bagley, both Buscemas, Milgrom, McFarlane...) and writers (Lee, Stern, DeFalco, David, Conway...) and seeing that evolution of the character is always a treat... up until they kinda forget about it and he stays stuck in place plus has much of his history stolen by a great villain being written out of character while other hack writers try to fill the mythos with crap or try to mess with the past if not straight up spit on it.

Still, from the 60s all the way to the 90s it really felt like Spidey, and really most other Marvel characters, grew with purpose and respect, minus a few bumps in the way.

And I found this old calc about Toei Spider-Man, though it wasn't stated how he vaporized the monster in the first place or has he done it with his leopardon?

@Lonkitt Wait, why isn't this on his page?
Its incorrect as it only takes into account the "meat" of the kaiju rather than the large metal parts that are vaporized as well. I spoke to Ant and some others with this and we agreed it should not be used. Also it assumes the monster is the size of T-Rex, which isn't entirely correct

And how exactly did he vaporize it?
Sword Vigor. Its a weapon he throws into the opponents and then they vaporize

Regardless, the calc is incorrect as the assumptions it takes do not match up with what we are shown in the show

Leopardon has vaporized every kaiju its fought
Makes sense, but it sucks that the calc can't be used. But are there anymore calcs that support the Leopardon's 8-B rating?

Tank Buffalo seems to be the one with the most metal on him, guess I could use him as reference.

Or at least, sturdy tank-like metal, as opposed to the scrap dude xD

Scrapman would've been my other guess, but the tank part makes sense

Those cuffs looked wide enough for Spidey's hands to just easily fit through to get them off, but I guess he wanted to show off his Spider Strength TM.

Perhaps the cuffs tightened around his arm, also found another feat that could be 9-A

Cap destroys a robot lookalike of himself

Despite the comical image of Spidey asking for help while the Moleman is about to hit him with a big rock this is a good LS feat

I don't think this is inconsistent with the OG Moleman. Like, he became a big joke later on but in the early days he was fairly skilled and a bit of a threat, mainly through his army but he himself wasn't weak at all. Class 1 to Class 5, methinks.

I didn't know that, i guess it makes sense since he can keep up with Spidey in the comic

I don't think he was quite Spider-Man level but he definetely hang around the weaker Street heroes' level. I think he'd be a bit troublesome to someone like Daredevil.

Granted, just based on his original backstory he was just a dude who got trapped underground, lost his sight and every sense of his got enhanced to crazy levels, he learned how to fight better through this and I guess trained his body to get much stronger. That wouldn't put you on Spidey's level, but I feel like everyone's around the same level in Spidey Super Stories, since they run on Rule of Funny.

Considering this he does indeed sound like a good foe for Daredevil
and speaking of everyone being around the same level

Rule of Funny, as I said lol

Characters just scale to whatever the writers thing is comedic

I'm not against this Spidey being City level, mind...
