Basically, Spider-Man hears of the Phantom Troupe committing mass massacres and giving Spiders a bad name. So he went and confronted the physical strongest member of the group.

How far is the range on this aura? His Spider-Sense should be able to give him enough of a warning to have Spidey realize he likely shouldn't get close to Uvogin.

And if he only does so when angry, it's really just about Spider-Man webbing him up in a cocoon and leaving the range of the Death aura (and considering it's likely gonna kick his Spider-Sense into overdrive, he'll know the level of danger he's dealing with).
