Speed equalization

So putting 2 characters in a pit fight with a massive speed difference is bad, so we equalize their speed. According to another user, a staff memeber told him that we equalize to the slower character.

And the question is: why the hell would you do that? Here, I'll be focusing on Flash, 'cause his whole thing is speed and literally everyone knows that. Say we put post-crisis Flash against composite Godzilla, and we, ofc, have their speed equalized. It is still not quite evenly matched, but this is just a theoretical situation.

Now, to which do we equalize? To Flash? And have Godzilla stay pretty functional? Aside from how stupid that would seem if they were having a punch-up in Central park, but whatever.

Or to Godzilla. A mere supersonic+ speed with some pretty fast reactions at least. In which case, Flash would be completely broken. He wouldn't have the AP to give Godzilla a nice scratch. His whole thing is getting enough speed so his normal weight body has enough force to punch something into next week. If we cap him so low, his tier drops from Tier 4C to 8C (as his standing punches aren't nearly as potent as infinite mass punch, and I'm comparing peaks).

1. We dont equalize to either character's speed, their speed is just made equal

2. Flash has a ton of powers other than just his speed, as do most speedsters

3. Flash can ignore durability

4. Flash's ap would still be 4-C even with speed equalized

You're not getting the point. His 4C Tier is based upon infinite mass punch, and that's at his peak speeds, what's not a standing punch. He needs to get to a high enough speed to become a starbuster or whatever he is. By limiting speed to a lower level, you're effectively reducing his tier.

People really make speed equalized overly complicated. It just means that no character can speedblitz
