Speed elaborate

I am curious, how fast is both Massively Hypersonic (Mach 100-1000), and Massively Hypersonic+ (Mach 1000-8810.2)???? Like how fast can one reach the moon on that speed ????

Can some of you guys elaborate me on what is Relativistic speed ???? Isnt that the speed of light or is it something inferior ????

Well, the moon is on average 384,400,000 meters away from the Earth , so let's use a couple of example speeds from that range:

Mach 100? Translates to 34029 meters per second. This would reach the Moon in 11296.25 seconds, or a little over three hours.

Mach 500? This is 170145 meters per second, five times as fast. This would get you from Earth to the Moon in 2259.25 seconds, about thrity-seven and a half minutes.

Mach 1293.015 is our standard speed of cloud-to-ground lightning, and is 440000 meters per second. This kind of speed would get you to the Moon in under 15 minutes.

That's the general range.

As far as Relativistic speed, that's the speed approaching the speed of light, at which our real-world, conventional laws of physics start to break down and become harder to actually apply. It's really hard to do this going by our real-life scientific laws, but of course fiction is gonna fiction and characters will move at or react to speeds of that caliber and beyond all the time.

Hope this helps!

Thanks you very much. That was very helpful of you.

How fast would one be able to get to Mars and other planets in our solar system, if one were to go at massive hypersonic speed ????

What sort of Massively Hypersonic speed? Again, it's a variable range.

If it were, say, the speed of lightning (440000 m/s, near the bottom of MHS+) as before? Well, the distance between us and Mars is far more variable than the distance between us and the Moon, since both Earth and Mars orbit the Sun at different speeds, but if this is to be believed the average distance between the two is 225 million km, or 225 billion meters.

Plug that in...

225000000000 meters / (440000 meters/second) = 511363.64 seconds, or nearly six days.

  • Scratch Head* Now thats too much work to do but I will take it.
How fast would light be able to traverse through our Solar system ????

Like what, from the Sun to Pluto at its very edge? That's 4.44 billion km on average: 4,440,000,000,000 meters: and the speed of light is 299792458 m/s. That would take 14810.25 seconds, or "only" 4.11 hours, about. Light's fast, yo.

Beyond Pluto lies the Oort Cloud, but where that begins and ends is honestly more of a headache than its worth, soooo...
