At the 7:55 mark we see Lone Starr create a barrier using the Schwartz to deflect lasers.
At the 10:10 mark Dark Helmet confirms he can travel in and out of video games using the Schwartz, and implies Lone Starr did it as well on accident. He also has a +6 sword for more equipment.
At the 11:08 mark we see that using the Konami code in GTS gives the characters infinite HP, which would be some kind of immortality/invincibility , although we never see Helmet and Skroob use it on themselves and it doesn't appear to protect them from what happens later on in the episode.

At the 19:04 mark it's revealed that Lone Starr beating the game caused the universe to be destroyed, which Skroob and Helmet survive as revealed at the 20:19 mark. Universal spaceballs when?
