So Black Star has his Shadow Star weapons here. He should start with Chain of Blackness which is a wide blade with a chain to wrap around him for defense and lash at enemies. It should be noted he is a martial arts and weapons genius, a true child of the martial way as told by Sid, a very skilled fighter for the DWMA. Worth noting his AP increases with Tsubaki and gets even higher with Shadow Star, so any AP diff is very minimal.

Sounds like Severed Shadow will be Black Stars best move. With the kunai, he can move fast enough to break away from his own shadow and create afterimages with mass. Even Mifune, a master swordsman took a bit to catch on as his clones can’t be distinguished from the real article. So Leaf will have to block every move if he doesn’t want to take a hit. Black Star can also pull off Branched Darkness to have Tsubaki sub in with one clone, making things even harder. It’s also great for letting Black Star dodge moves as he can seemingly sub himself with a shadow.

Leaf Man practically does the same thing with afterimages (except for the mass part). It only took him a few seconds to speed up to the point of blitzing 50% Delta, who was originally on his level of speed. Leaf Man's dura neg also allowed him to two-shot Delta, who was using 50%, effectively making him 25x stronger than Leaf Man.

How was Delta endurance wise? Black Star can continue after being stabbed through his stomach and foot and having two of his fingers broken all in the same fight with not much room between the events. He can take multiple of what should be knockout blows and keep going.

Delta at the time was just shy of baseline Superhuman. I see what you're saying though. Star probably takes endurance here.

It seems Black Star really needs to push his skill advantage before he’s overtaken by Leaf’s speed. Like said Chain of Blackness has a good range and Severed Shadow lets Star avoid hits while potentially getting good ones in on Leaf. Black Star could break out Masamune. With it he was able to combat Mifune’s Infinite One-Sword Style which consists of accurately launching swords at an opponent. Black Star was able to dodge swords within a papers width. He could catch Leaf slipping with that and his scarf which is sharp enough to cut through a man.

Leaf Man has Leaf Shoot which can fire dozens of smaller projectiles. Not sure if that's comparable to Mifune tho.

He could catch him slipping with that and his scarf which is sharp enough to cut through a man.

That's basically what Leaf Man does but he uses his hands.

With Leaf Man's unique style of fighting, Black Star would have so many cuts that he'd be looking like Freddy Krueger the moment Leaf Man overtakes him in speed.

Mifune was on an extremely high level, he could launch like three swords in a row, so Leaf has steep competition.

Leaf doesn’t have the cutting range with his hands even if his other powers grant him that. Death by cuts would just be a very long process for Leaf to try on Black Star with the amount of wounds he took from Mifune, and in that amount of time, Star could gain the upper hand he needs. Not to mention, Tsubaki is always there to advise him if his own intuition isn’t enough.

At any point Leaf of the Moonlit Night’s explosion or Planet Destruction Cannon could deal huge damage externally and internally respectively.
